Today we’d like to introduce you to Carrine Mann
Hi Carrine, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I was supposed to start my brand 2 years before I did but I was going through I very bad brake up and my mind was so out of it I couldn’t even put my mind on starting a business. I was on Instagram and I kept seeing this page called Foreignluxe. It was helping girls start their business with wholesale and brand marketing. The owner of that brand is Daijha. She has helped so many girls start their brands and I’m so lucky she took time out to help me build MinksByChyna. Without her helping me and just giving me encouraging words I don’t think I would have went through with building my brand. I have to give her, her flowers every chance I get. I remember my first package of lashes I sold out in 3 weeks. I didn’t even have my website up and running yet. That was off of leaving my business cards in stores, posting on social media, and other girls talking about how good my lashes are. When I saw the great feedback I knew I had something great in the works and I needed to jump head first and live this dream out. 4 years later and my business still selling out and getting new customers every day I’m so proud of myself. I knew I could do it and I did it and I’m still working and learning as I go I’m so happy.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Being an entrepreneur everything is not going to be perfect. You are going to have good days and bad days. You might sell out one month you might not get any orders another month. Never let that deter you from what you’re destined to do. That should fuel you to go harder. I’m my worst critic. I can put together a whole marketing campaign post it and look at it like “Omg I should have did this or I should have changed that”. That’s my biggest struggle overthinking and not just seeing how my target audience feels about the campaign. Everytime I get great feedback but it’s still that thought in my head I could have changed this or did it this way instead.

I am the founder and owner of MinksByChyna. It is a cosmetic line I sell lashes and lipglosses. When I first started out, I was known for my lashes and how great quality they were. I have now added lipgloss to my brand and I have been receiving some great reviews. What set me apart from others would have to be my creativity. My branding is way different from others. What I most proud of brand wise would have to be the fact that so many beautiful women are wearing my brand and they feel very confident and sexy wearing either my lashes or lipglosses. I want the readers to know that when they put on my products to feel good about themselves and just feel sexy and confident.
Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
My views on risk taking are positive because some risk you take can give you that exposure you need to get your name and business out there. Always take the risk if you and your brand are going to be put in a good light and get your name out there for others to see what your brand is all about. Don’t take risk if it will put you in a bad light. Remember all publicity is not good and can hurt your brand in the long run. Make sure you do everything from the heart and be genuine behind everything you do and put out.
