Today we’d like to introduce you to Aaron Drew
Hi Aaron, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started in music as a young musician, playing piano at the age of 5, transitioning into drums/percussion at 10. My journey of music production and songwriting started from 12 to 14 years-old. Fast forward to 2013 and I put myself through audio school and received my Audio Engineering and Music Production diploma from SAE. It’s been a long journey of gaining knowledge and experience while acquiring professional gear to add to my recording studio under my company Lucid Vibes Entertainment Ltd. which I opened in 2017.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
As a business owner you are inevitably going to face challenges and my path was no exception. The immense capital that it can take to open a studio is certainly an overwhelming challenge to anyone starting out. The initial hustle of working endless hours and losing track of the all-nighters spent both earning an income, and learning the ins and outs of what it takes to not only be successful in business but create high-quality music was not an easy one. Recently, the main challenges for me have been creating consistent business in the way of client acquisition in an industry that took a really big hit around the 2020-2021 lockdowns. Add to the fact that there are so many talented artists and musicians out there that are really struggling to make end meet financially, so many of them are unable to get into the studio as consistently as they would like. Being adaptable and creating multiple revenue streams is an absolute must!
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Lucid Vibes Entertainment Ltd.?
LVE started in 2017 as a recording studio. We have since expanded to both Studio and Live Event services. Offering studio recording, music production, audio engineering, and a plethora of other services like songwriting, artist management, and artist development to name a few. Within our live sector we do event production, audio installs for dozens of venues, and have a roster of audio/visual technicians for live performances.
We definitely have the most fun between the studio and helping our artists shine on stage! I think what sets us apart is our ability to help our artist find their true voice and greatest skills and then put a magnifying glass on that with our professional recording, mixing/mastering, and hands-on approach to every project that comes into our studio. Many studios will just record an artist or do their engineering without truly collaborating with the artist to make the project the very best it can possibly be. I always do my best to take the time to get to know the artists goals with each project and then do everything we can to help them win!!!
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
Do your best to align with your passion and what you believe to be your purpose. Don’t quit your day job too early but at the same time don’t give up on your goals and dreams – God gave you that vision for a reason so keep working like it’s up to you and pray like it’s up to God. What’s for you surely won’t miss you but you’ve gotta be willing to put in the work, stay consistent, and put in the 10,000+ hours to master your craft.
