Today we’d like to introduce you to Janis Danevics
Hi janis, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I am where I am now thanks to God and the people I have met in my life, I was at the right time and place
I started learning music from the age of 10, I was interested in soul funk and blues music
I listen to such music as James Brown, Ray Charles, John Coltrane, Thelonius Monk, Aretha Franklin, Nat King Cole, etc.
I gained more knowledge about this music by attending music festivals and master classes.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Choosing to study and work in the non-commercial field of music, the road will not be easy, there are many places where you have to say no if you want to develop your identity and be different from the trends. This will be beneficial to you in time because there will be a circle of listeners and customers who will want to hear and enjoy something different. Nowadays, many musicians and producers are forgotten because they focus only on how quickly they can make money and the identity and quality at the same time disappear.if the music industry is your calling, then the performer will look at it differently, making money will not be the primary priority, but how to build long-term relationships with listeners and customers
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The most important lesson in life is not to lose your identity, no matter what tempting offers come, always focus on weighing all the offers and moving forward, even if it’s small steps, but only go forward and develop yourself all the time.it is important to obey the herd instinct
1. Faith and Patience
Achieving specific goals in the music business requires unwavering faith and patience. Without these two elements, the journey can be disheartening, and success may remain out of reach.
2. Commitment to Your Vision
It is crucial to stay true to your goals and vision, regardless of external opinions and criticisms. The music industry is filled with varying perspectives, and while feedback can be valuable, staying committed to your artistic vision ensures authenticity and personal fulfillment.
3. Embracing Constructive Criticism
Listening to criticism and suggestions is essential for growth. Constructive feedback can offer new perspectives and highlight areas for improvement. For instance, during my performances in Greece and Cyprus, I learned that audiences there expected more
I was performing classic smooth jazz, soul, and pop songs from artists like Sting, George Michael, Chris de Burgh, Frank Sinatra, and Michael Bublé. Not typical dance house music hits. This feedback encouraged me to step out of my comfort zone and diversify my repertoire to better meet audience expectations.
By combining faith and patience, a steadfast commitment to your vision, and an openness to constructive criticism, you can navigate the music business more effectively and achieve your goals while remaining true to yourself.
