We recently connected with Keiston and have shared our conversation below.
Keiston , appreciate you joining us today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
The most meaningful project I’ve worked on thus far was defiantly “The Soul Explosion”. I’d consider it this project because it was my first headlined show and I was behind everything with putting it together! The idea of having my own headlined show came to me about 1 year prier when talking to my friend about if I could do it or not. To be honest I felt like I could do it but was very nervous, I didn’t let that stop me though. From that point on I started looking for locations because I already had a vision in mind. It was a long process but I was finally able to pull off “The Soul Explosion” featuring multiple acts, a live band, dancers, a special guest host, give aways, multiple vendors, a full camera/photography crew, and lastly an oversold crowd all on November 6th, which is the day before my birthday (November 7th)! To me that meant the world because it proved to me that I was loved and supported. It proved to the little kid in me that anything is possible just like he always thought.
Keiston , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Keiston, born and raised in Indianapolis, IN. For as long as I can remember, I have always loved to sing but I didn’t actually start recording and releasing music until 2017. The motivation behind just going for it was weighing out the things that made me happiest then doing my best to make it into lifestyle. As far as what’s offered from me, since becoming an independent artist I’ve had the pleasure of performing, songwriting, scriptwriting, acting, modeling and of course singing. Those are the services I’d say I have to offer! My brand and aesthetic are all about being yourself authentically. What I’m most proud of is my growth as an artist, my God given talent and most of all the courage to not be able to fail.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
My creative drive has always been to heal my inner child because to me he’s healing and being creative has always been his outlet. Which is the main reason why my particular goal has always been to be happy in the end. I’m very family oriented so in the end a goal of mine is to also be able to provide for them as well.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist is going through the entire creative process then watching your vision come to life, also to see the impact it has on others.
