We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Ashley Tuohy a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Ashley, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We believe kindness is contagious and so we’d love for you to share with us and our audience about the kindest thing anyone has ever done for you?
In my lifetime, I have had many kind things happen to me and I’m grateful for that. One recent summer event, a cake melted in my car!!!!! I like to offer as many services to my clients as I can, so I offer to pick up and deliver cakes for parties, and I felt confident doing it. Recently, a beautiful, very special, very expensive graduation cake melted in my car in this Louisiana heat. I honestly should’ve known better and should’ve had it delivered, but it was five minutes from my house, and an hour from my client, so I thought it was a no-brainer. I can’t explain the feeling I had when I opened my car and saw the cake, BUT IT WAS AWFUL. I immediately called Hope at Bae’s Bakery in Gretna and asked her to save the day, and she did. My client was so kind and instead of getting upset, she immediately sent me a generous tip and called me the best event planner ever. She served the cake on a platter, it was delicious, and a huge hit! The kindness award in 2024 goes to my client, Tiffany and Baes Bakery!! You made the rest of my year, ladies!!!

Ashley, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, I always had an entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for planning events. After being a bridesmaid in over 10 weddings during college, I knew I wanted to be a Wedding and Events Planner. I started my business from scratch, offering my services to friends and family for little to no cost, knowing it would help me build a reputation for myself and my business. After taking a break to raise a family, I’m back and more committed than ever. In 2019 and 2024, I even put on my own bridal show, ‘A Luxe New Orleans Bridal Show.’
Being a planner is the best job for me, but it’s not without its difficulties. I strive to make my clients happy. I offer a variety of services, including full wedding planning, wedding day coordination, and event planning for any type of party. I also provide personal concierge services and hope to one day own a boutique hotel. My services are available in South Louisiana and worldwide. We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Hashtags! And consistency. But most importantly, the gorgeous photos that I get to post from the weddings and events I work that photographers send me.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
People getting to actually see me work, a lot of my clients now, call and say I’ve heard you’re great, where do I sign up? That is huge to me. It’s an amazing feeling not having to interview for something because someone already knows that you’ll do a good job, because they heard it through the grapevine. Between my clients and vendor recommendations, because of my hard work, I am so thankful!
