There’s a concept of the Matthew Effect which uses math to illustrate what folks have lamented about for thousands of years – the rich get richer while the poor get poorer. Take tech for example – the rich and poor often have different problems, but because it’s more profitable to solve problems for the wealthy a disproportionate share of tech innovation focuses on solving problems for the affluent. However, it doesn’t have to be this way – and we have been blown away by the thousands of members of our community who have devoted their lives through their businesses, organizations and art to serve the underserved.

In years past, we would select a charity to donate to at the end of the year. While is was great, and our team really enjoyed seeing the difference it made, it was flawed in many ways. One was that we based the amount we donated on how well (or poor) our company did that particular year. This lead to building two houses in one year for families in need, down to some meals for the food bank. Read more>>

Our good friends attend and serve at Rhythm Church in Oceanside. They invited us to visit and so we did and naturally we observed our surroundings. They rent the building and the grounds so they inherited some deferred maintenance. As a small start-up church there is not a lot of capital to put toward improvements. They were so gracious about wanting our opinion on how things could be improved without asking us to donate time or resources. Read more>>

I am so excited to share my newest project to help serve the underserved! My newest app- Xchanges, provides a platform for professionals to provide services without paper or digital currency as payment. For example, a nail technician can provide a manicure to a lash artist in exchange for their lashes done. It doesn’t have to stop with beauty. It can include all industries that have something to offer to the world- as long as the two users agree they can swap as much services as they’d like! This can really help underserved populations that are barely keeping up with inflation. Read more>>

I definitely would say this is a huge thing a part of my business. Being in this tattoo industry I’ve seen a lot of homophobia, womanizing, at times some super racial opinions. and this just brings me back to one of my biggest sayings! -that everybody deserves to get a tattoo. Regardless if you’re old if you’re younger, you’re gay, you’re straight, you don’t identify as anything, or you’re just the most weirdest human in this earth , I could care less if you’re blue, an alien or your red!
