We were lucky to catch up with Natasha Cozart recently and have shared our conversation below.

Natasha , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today When you were first starting out, did you join a firm or start your own?

When starting in real estate, I interviewed with many brokerages until I found the right fit for me. Most of my prior work experience had been in the luxury realm and I wanted to expand my brand into Luxury Real estate. It was very challenging as a new agent, to find a brokerage that offers training or mentorship in luxury for new agents. A friend of mine introduced me to Peter Ancona and we interviewed shortly after. I felt his brokerage offered what I was looking for, it just felt right. I loved how diverse his agents where, this was important for me to see. Peter is well regarded in the industry and has achieved great success. Having him as my mentor has been essential in closing my first deals. I am grateful to always have him a phone call, or text away for guidance on any issue that may come up on a deal. His brokerage doesn’t offer any leads, so I had to work hard to carve out my own lane and build my clientele from scratch. The weeks of training I spent with him provided me with a realistic and sustainable approach to creating my success as an agent. I have already sold millions in real estate and have doubled my sales in just the second quarter of this year. I definitely believe choosing to be an Ancona agent gave me the edge over new agents starting in this industry.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers?

My name is Natasha Cozart, I am a REALTOR and top producing agent at Ancona Real Estate. I am a FULL time agent specializing in Luxury Residential listings in the tri county areas of Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach. I focus on new and pre-construction properties, as well as airbnb approved, short term residences in South Florida. I transitioned to real estate after a 20 year career in the Hospitality industry. I worked in many of South Florida’s Five Star Five Diamond establishments. My career in the fine dining and event planning sectors of Hospitality, have allowed me the opportunity to travel and experience many cultures, foods and languages. I am fluent in English, French, Haitian Creole and Spanish. I love to travel, and have pursued international certification from the National Association of REALTORS in hopes of being of service as well, to the international clientele investing and relocating to South Florida.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.

In real estate there are many licensed agents, but only a small percentage carry the majority of market sales. Many see the glamour that the time seasoned agents achieve, but this doesn’t happen overnight. When you first start, it takes about 2 years to hone your skills and make your presence known in the industry. This can mean several months without income, and also requires a large financial investment to get established in your desired market area. It takes a lot of discipline, mental strength, and consistency to succeed. Not many are able to make that type of financial investment and commitment full time. I’m blessed to have had the support of my family to withstand the drought and uncertainties that come with entrepreneurship. I am now well into my second year of real estate and have achieved much success. As with all good things, hard work does pay off if you can resist the stand of time.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?

Selecting networks and events that you have genuine interest in. I believe when you show up in spaces without pretense and as your true self, you attract your tribe quicker. After that, it’s about being consistent, investing in your brand and marketing that will create the buzz and following you are searching for.
