We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Anthony Luca a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Anthony, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
Rich Forever Young was originally a T-Shirt design for my clothing company “A N T H O N Y L U C A” in 2014, that quickly became the popular expression that others would say “out-loud” and the “company slogan”.
I knew “Rich Forever Young” was special, I could feel it (and still do) every time I stare at those three words.
I didn’t have a clue, the depth of the idea, given to me at that time.
It wasn’t until 2020 (three years after surviving the Route 91 shooting in Las Vegas on 10-1-17 and recommitting my life to Christ) that God gave me the revelation of what Rich Forever Young meant and what it was to become.
Here is the breakdown;
Rich – Heart
Forever – Soul
Young – Mind
Rich (Heart) – “for where your treasure is, there your heart (your wishes, your desires; that on which your life centers) will be also.” Matthew 6:21 AMP
Forever (Soul) – “Jesus said to her, “I am the Resurrection and the Life. Whoever believes in (adheres to trusts in, relies on) Me (as Savior) will live even if he dies; and everyone who lives and believes in Me (as Savior) will never die.” John 11:25-26 AMP
Young (Mind) – “I assure you and most solemnly say to you, unless you repent (that is, change your inner self-your old way of thinking, live changed lives) and become like children (trusting, humble, and forgiving), you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is greatest in the kingdom of heaven. Whoever receives and welcomes one child like this in My name receives Me” Matthew 18:3-5 AMP
By the guidance of the Holy Spirit, It was revealed to me that that we are RICH in our heart.
“For out of our mouth the heart speaks (Luke 6:45), and life and death is in the power of our tongue” (Proverbs 18:21)
We will reign and live FOREVER (eternity) in Heaven with Christ Jesus (John 11:25-26). Our bodies are temporary but our spirit is eternal.
We are told in 2 Corinthians 10:5 “to take captive every thought to the obedience of Christ..” (word of God)
We are also told that we must have “child like faith” (Matthew 18:3 / Mark 10:14-15). This is the YOUNG mindset within all of us, to believe and receive His love!
Jesus said “love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.” (Matthew 22:37 / Deuteronomy 6:5-7)
This is, “Rich Forever Young”.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Up until October 1, 2017. I was a man on fire for business, success and fun. I always believed in God but you couldn’t see God’s love shining through my life. It wasn’t until the night 10-1-2017, at Route 91 in Las Vegas, NV that I had an awakening and direct encounter with God.
I remember the first question He asked me after surviving the shooting, “If I didn’t spare your life that night, and called you home, are you satisfied with the way you’ve lived your life?” My immediate answer was “no!”
Doubling down with a verbal expression “alright God, you have my attention. I don’t want to live for myself anymore. I want to go two feet in with You.”
From that date forward, my destiny was revealed to me. Not immediately, but over time, God has been faithful revealing to me my identity (in Him), how lost I was, and the purpose I am to fulfill with my time left here on earth.
An immediate transition (by choice) from living for self, to living selfless for Him.
Over the years to follow, Rich Forever Young was revealed to me, in detail of what I was to do and what our organization would bring.
Starting with my reading, speaking, and understanding. God began to grant wisdom to me, as I applied myself in reading, prayer and applying His word to my life. The rhythm of my speech, insight and understanding began to develop and flow out of me through encouraging others. It feels (and felt) completely natural and effortless for me to see the gifted qualities and strengths within others and speak life to those gifts.
There are many public, motivational and encouraging speakers and organizations that provide great tools, curriculum, and speeches, to get people where they desire to be. There are few (that aren’t Pastors) that reveal the Power and understanding of God’s word, and how to apply His principles (blueprint) to our mind, to live out a life experiencing total freedom and breakthrough full of His faithfulness! Not that we won’t have battles, struggles and disappointments, but that we have a God who loves us, guides us and cares for us through it all!
Many people are turned off by “church” because they have been hurt by people who claim to go to church. This posture keeps them “distant” from the majesty of God. Our effort through Rich Forever Young, is to shine direct light to the “touchy topics” of the world, through His kingdom.
Everything that I speak, teach, share, and set out to do, is rooted in the Word of God. Not opinion. Not motivation. Not “get up and grind”. But God’s design. His blueprint on a “life well lived” for His glory. I want people to know the greatness that lives within each of them, and why the enemy tempts, deceives and attacks so aggressively, to keep us from taking our mark and stepping into what we were created to do. Each one of us is unique, fearfully made, talented, strong, and qualified for the battle at hand. God’s vision and my passion is to light a fire in people, to ignite the shift from “victim to victor!”
Any advice for managing a team?
Leading is serving and your “offering” must be bigger than yourself. If you are after promotion over people or position over promise, you will fail.
The world says “title” you’ve made it” but at what cost? Cutting the throats of others to feed the prideful arrogance within ourselves?
Love says “let me help you. Let me teach you. Let me lift you to a higher level of understanding”.
Too many people try to lead, teach and “build” from insecurity which is rooted in fear. If you are after quantity and not quality, your entire mission is driven off your “false identity”.
This is not a foundation for an individual nor a team. We must know who we are first before we can apply ourselves to others. If you are strong within yourself, you will want to build leaders alongside you that go further than you and that success will bring you great joy!
If I know me, I can know you.
And If I know me, I can coach you to victory!”
Selfless is serving your brother and sister.
Selfish is serving others with the mindset of gaining for yourself.
Leadership is not fame, title, a revenue stream, or a status.
Leadership is serving your family, community, society, and the world with impactful qualities, that provide care, through love.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
No matter what I accomplish or don’t, I’m still enough.
I think this is daily for all of us fighting against a world that says “more, more, more!” while we exhaust ourselves forgetting how to say “no” and do “less”.
Our greatest challenge right now is keeping ourselves in alignment. Not drifting, draining or “over delivering” to a world that doesn’t know what it wants to eat. If you’re reading right now, you’re ahead. If you’re exercising right now, you’re ahead. If you’re applying simple principles to not let technology “run your life to ruin”, you’re ahead.
I think one of the greatest “dwarf mindsets” is comparison.
Comparison leads to insecurity (the entire concept is fear)
Insecurity leads to jealousy
Jealousy leads to hatred
Hatred leads to unproductivity
(The sum of all these phrases, “I’m not enough, what I’m doing is not enough, I need to do more to be enough”. lies from the enemy to keep you stuck, stagnant and wandering)
If we aren’t careful, “observing others” will turn into “comparing ourselves to others”, as if they are opponents and not people (even if the observing was for inspiration). Which leads to distraction, drifting and destruction.
If you don’t know why you’re chasing what you’re after. You won’t even know when you catch it.
You are enough and what you do is more than enough.
