Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Millie Kimble. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Millie, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Do you wish you had waited to pursue your creative career or do you wish you had started sooner?
I got goosebumps just feeling into my response on this one. There are certainly parts of me that once ached at the thought, “I’d be so much farther along if I started sooner.” But, “starting sooner,” simply wasn’t my path. I trust, so deeply, that I was meant to live through the experiences I did first. I stayed in an abusive partnership for eleven years and woke up to my gifts and my life as an Artist (and my spirituality) the moment I left. Those eleven years of “being held back” bring a passionate rage that keeps the fire wildin’. They have brought me to a greater depth of compassion for others who find themselves in unsafe relationships, who are going through a divorce, or just navigating those complete 180ºs that life likes to throw at us. The timing was/is divine.
I also realized I began long before I started. Before the image of this work had formed, I was living it, dreaming it, becoming it. And, however painful it may have been, I wouldn’t trade the journey for anything.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
It’s hard to pick a single “I am,” but this is the box that feels most boundless: I am a Creator.
In the past few years, I have become an Aura Artist, Author, and Spirit Medium. These are roles I never even dreamed were possible or even knew anything about. I have been entirely divinely and intuitively led.
I currently live out of my van traveling across North America creating aura paintings in private sessions, small group workshops, and large festival gatherings. I published my first poetry book (When A Wave Meets the Shore) last March and have plans to publish a memoir within the next 6 months.
If something doesn’t feel right on my heart, I trust it. (After many years of knowing the pain of not listening!). Two years ago, this meant dropping all of my clients as a Freelance UI/UX Designer and going full-time as an Artist. I had no idea what I was doing (and still often don’t) but continued to find the courage to believe in the soul of this art form and keep going.
That’s the sweet sauce: a little bit of trust, and a whole lot of patience.
I am extremely proud of myself and the journey that brought me here. I feel so grounded and slow, and wouldn’t want to grow from any other place. It has been far from easy–I’ve got big dreams! To surrender to the flow and witness my vision coming alive each day has been one of the greatest joys of my life. And it’s only just begun.

Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative?
To anyone who considers themselves “non-creative,” you’re probably not going to like this… but I don’t believe you aren’t creative! Even the most science-minded intellectuals have some of the most creative minds.
I believe that artwork is heartwork.
We create breath. We create movement. We create feelings and expression and momentum. For many, the greatest creation is the life they live, the relationships they build, the children they raise, or the home they build.
My intention as an Artist is always to dive into the deepest feelings possible, to jump to the greatest joys, to ride the peaks and valleys and everywhere in between. To be most present to the is-ness. And then channel that into form.
I don’t think it’s much different or separate, I feel it all as a spectrum.

How did you build your audience on social media?
Let me start by saying–I currently have 1,100 people following me on Instagram. Notice that I used “people” there, rather than accounts. Every single person on there is someone I have personally connected with in some way. I continuously sift through my followers to remove anyone who seems “scammy.”
There’s a Shakespeare quote that I love to live by, “Though I be but little, I am fierce.” It can be so easy to fall into the systems of social media. There are tricks to get your content seen, and it can feel exciting when things work! However, it’s important to know what you’re building toward. For me, I never want my success to be reliant on the success of a platform. That feels unsettling. I trust my root, my own ground, and look to resources like Instagram, TikTok, etc as a way to extend my branches, rather than dig my heels.
