We recently connected with Jessica Rodriguez and have shared our conversation below.
Jessica, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
I started CANNAXICANACLUB while working in the cannabis industry. I became building a brand that represents women, my culture and cannabis. I wanted to combine a mix of my roots by cooking traditional Mexican dishes but with a twist of cannabis. Food has always been important in my family so, being able to create & bring those recipes that have been passed on through out generations and my ancestors has been a journey. I grew as an artist & started creating resin art, as well as a cannabis infused intimacy oil.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your background and context?
Hello ! My name is Jessica also known as Dulce. Ive been working in the cannabis industry for 8+ years. During the time, I worked at my first legal shop the representation cannabis culture had on the shelves within the BIPOC community were very low. I wanted to build a formula that help women feel good while consuming cannabis in a different way by showing some tender, love & care to the genital area. So that’s when the idea of “Sabor A Mi” Intimacy oil began, I developed a coconut oil base that contains cannabis & organic herbs which help enhance sensation and pleasure during intercourse as well as reclaiming your inner self and building confidence while being sexual active.
As women, we are the fastest growing consumers of cannabis but, we are still missing the recognition we deserve. My goal is to make a change in cannabis, culture and women. As we connect, learn and inspire one – another about physical, emotional, spiritual, & personal issues.
What do you find most rewarding about being creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being a creative artist is the feedback I get from my people, especially older Latina women. Coming from a Mexican background it’s an honor to provide knowledge and share the benefits of the cannabis plant & the benefits of herbs. Being able to educate women that it’s okay to be sexual active & to consume cannabis.
Is there a mission driving your creative journey?
I want to educate my people and have our voices heard as well as expanding cannabis jobs for latinos. I want to be the type of woman who helps others see that if I can do it, they sure as hell can too.
