Today we’d like to introduce you to Street Product
Hi Street, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Well when I was in high school I was into football and was really good at it but never really had nobody to really keep in it or push me. I got a cousin by the name of Lightshow who started rapping and became a pioneer in music from DC and kept me under his wing and that inspired me to really get into music
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t been a smooth road at all. DMV isn’t really a music area so it’s hard trying to gain traction in rap in a city where Go-Go is the main music sound. A lot of artist leave the area, gain success and just don’t never come back and til this day we haven’t had a artist break outside the area.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am an artist/ songwriter that is known for my melodic vocals and my story line lyrics. I am proud to be one of the artist from my city that has a different sound outside of the drill music the people use to hearing, just being different.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
My advice to other artist looking into doing music is don’t follow the next man blueprint. What works for one person might not work for you. Create your own genuine sound and master it, bring a different sound, give the people something they haven’t heard or seen before. Also get you a team of people that you trust with your life and everyone has the same vision.
