Rachel, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you share a story that illustrates an important or relevant lesson you learned in school
When I was attending Cosmetology School, I will never forget my instructor talking about saying “YES” to any opportunity that comes my way. Embracing new challenges or responsibilities can lead to personal and professional development. Saying yes can push you out of your comfort zone and help you acquire new skills.

Hi my name is Rachel! I’m a bridal makeup artist in the Hampton Roads area! I have been in the industry for 8 years now and love it more every day! I’m so grateful I’m able to make my clients feel beautiful on their special day! I specialize in luxury bridal makeup services as well as special event makeup. Continuing my education, I advanced my skills and obtained my Tattoo Cosmetic License. Over the years in the industry I’ve understood that you can never stop learning and growing. I am always learning from others to evolve and grow. Staying humble is always a priority.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Social media is the best for your business! I wouldn’t be where I am now without it! When I first started my career I reached out to a lot of different photographers through Instagram or Facebook bridal pages to collab together. In the beginning of my career, I would do free makeup for models to get my name out there.
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
Being consistent. Posting on my social media and having clients post reviews about my services has been such a help on receiving more clientele!
