We recently connected with Brooke Hague and have shared our conversation below.
Brooke, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
I have always had a passion for helping others, capturing timeless moments and creating masterpieces. Not in a million years did I ever think I would be doing all three. I grew up with an artistic family, my mom being a painter and a photographer. A lot of what I had learned from her over the years, I put on the back burner because I didn’t think I could learn nor did I think my art was good enough. I hit a few very rough patches in my life, dealing with grief and addictions, pausing all of my life’s goals. It was as if I were drowning underwater and when I finally got sober, I realized my purpose was not to have a regular job but to utilize my skills andblife experiences to guide others down a new path of true freedom of expression. Now, 9 years sober, I have a flourishing career with not only my art and photography- I am a spiritual healer as well. I work with people battling addictions and mental blockages to help the grow and remap their minds to see life through a new lense.
Brooke, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I joined the creative community because of my mental health and addictions. I became an artist to create healing jewelry and decor that gives life back to animals that were once passed. In bringing the soul back to the animals, their spirits live on and are able to guide us as our spirit guides. I create moody style moments for couples and individuals to bring a spark back into their lives. One thing I have learned about photography in the last few years is the major confidence boost it can give someone. To see someone’s eyes light up when they see their beauty is one of the best feelings ever! We also provide spiritual mentorship to those battling addictions, mental health issues or just plain mental blockages that prevent them from living their lives to the fullest. With Soulcravt, we believe we have a direct current with the Universe that guides our energy and our minds. It is up to us to channel it in the right places. Our entire mission is to create a beautiful place, one soul at a time.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Building my social media was difficult. I am a firm believer in organically growing my pages. A lot of my followers and clientele come from word of mounth and meeting them in person at Art Markets and festivals across Colorado. We are soon to be traveling US wide in 2025. My advice to anyone just starting up is to get out there, get known and meet people face to face to build a rapport. Not only will you grow a rapport, you will find community and a whole new network of family and friends.
How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
Shop local. Anything you can buy at a major store, you can find at an art market, flea market or festival. We not only pour our hearts and souls into our creations, we have bills to pay and families to feed. Even if you make a goal to shop locally a couple times per month, it helps keep our community strong.
