Hi Hagen, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.

We’ve always had a huge appreciation for music as listeners, stemming from our parents love for music. Growing up, there was always music playing in the house or in the car. Music of all genres and generations, which shaped our ear and our approach to music that we have today. A few years back, Jared was just starting to produce on his laptop at our parents house. Coincidentally, Kaleb tore his ACL and needed to move back in with our parents to help with the recovery. This ignited the desire we both share to pursue music and produce songs. Both of us being in the same house, with the same love of music, kickstarted an inevitable pursuit of a creative career as artists. Early on, there was a moment where Jared was making music at his bedroom setup. Kaleb came in with his laptop in hand, asking if he could use the speakers to play something he had made in his room just then. After hearing the beat, Jared thought it sounded better than anything he had made since he started making music. With that in mind, they started working side by side. Learning and expanding together in a moment of full exploration and newly found dedication to a now undying love for music creation.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

For us, we knew we wanted total control. From the beginning, we wanted to ensure that the decision making and overall creative process was completed and fulfilled by the both of us putting our heads together to achieve what we see for ourselves creatively. From music production being our first love to graphic design, photography, videography, coming later; to now having a place to preform live at venues. We’ve been able to dream up and execute every artful endeavor we’ve found ourselves in. From being a supportive figure for other artist’s albums and projects, to establishing ourselves as executive producers with those we work closely with, our creative vision and dedication to always represent ourselves well and in a way we’re proud of. Never to bend or go back on ourselves, the integrity we keep between us has brought us many accolades, achievements, friendships, and a growing desire to keep going.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?

By far, the most rewarding aspect of being artists has been the community we have found ourselves in. We have formed many friendships with people we would consider family at this point. Without this pursuit of art, we wouldn’t be a part of such a large and supportive community that continuously brings joy to our lives. Being relied on and sought out by people in our local artist community, and the massive online community has brought us so many pure and fulfilling moments. It’s a piece of being an artist that we are extremely grateful for because we know there is no guarantee of being a part of one.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?

By having each other to rely on, we’ve been able to overcome so much together. In a space where no success is guaranteed, it can be hard to remain consistent. For us, this is the most important part of the entire process. To know that nothing is given but there’s everything to gain, we’ve dedicated ourselves to a higher level of consistency and work ethic to push ourselves forward. Beyond our natural love and desire to create, we refuse to let each other down. By having someone else to lean on that shares the exact same drive and love for what we’re creating has been monumental in our time as Hagen Brothers. A higher level of communication and transparency has brought us to become more consistent and inspired to create the art we love without straying away from our common goals. As this is something we love, it becomes easy to do.
