We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Koach Keisha a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Koach Keisha thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Being a business owner can be really hard sometimes. It’s rewarding, but most business owners we’ve spoken sometimes think about what it would have been like to have had a regular job instead. Have you ever wondered that yourself? Maybe you can talk to us about a time when you felt this way?
Growing up in the District of Columbia, I knew it wasn’t exactly the place where dreams come true, but I always envisioned that life would be better for me when I became an adult. Raised by my maternal grandmother, I was taught never to quit and that I could become anything I wanted if I worked hard and believed in God. As I grew older, I began to understand that I was born to inspire, encourage, uplift, and help others. This became my passion in life. Coming from an impoverished environment, I know firsthand that life comes with its challenges and hardships, but I also believe that with determination, nothing can defeat you.
As an Entrepreneur and Founder of “Destined 4 Purpose Life Coach,” I am deeply motivated to make a difference in the world. I have a clear goal, and I understand the needs of today’s society. I know the challenges that come with this mission, and I accept them with unwavering faith. I see the scars that the world is facing, and I’m committed to diving in and helping in any way I can. I’ve volunteered at multiple local shelters to feed the homeless, supported teen pregnancy initiatives, and participated in various outreach missions. I firmly believe that children are our future, and their well-being is my number one priority. I consider myself a determined and vigorous individual, yet I strive to remain calm and composed. I encourage everyone to stand up for what they believe in and give it their all.
As a Certified Life Coach, I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with mental health facilities and coach individuals. My passion for coaching has fueled my deep commitment to supporting women across the globe. I joined the Innovation Women Speakers Group, which helps women achieve success in their business careers. I’m dedicated to preserving my culture as a role model, creating avenues for young people to develop their talents and discover their purpose as they transition into adulthood.
When people ask me to describe myself, I don’t hesitate to say, “I am a child of God.”
It brings me extraordinary joy to serve others and to be used by God.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’m Lakeisha Price, but most people call me Keisha. I’m a native Washingtonian, the eldest of six siblings, and a proud mother. There was a time in my life when I was going through some deep struggles, and in the midst of it all, I remember hearing God’s voice telling me, “The calling on your life is worth fighting for.” I never imagined that God would use me or call me to this purpose, especially not in 2020. At that point, with all the pain I was carrying in my heart, I didn’t think I could help anyone. But God had other plans and turned everything around.
I have over 25 years of corporate experience, but as I progressed in my career, I developed a love for writing. In 2013, I joined the Bowie Authors and Writing Group and began drafting short novels like Sophisticated Sinner, Breathless, The Scars Within, and From the Hood (unpublished). Yet, even as I enjoyed writing, I was passionately seeking my true calling and purpose in life, which was to help others. That led me to earn Health & Life Coach Certifications from the highly accredited Health Coach Institute (HCI). I also received a second certification in Life Coaching and a Psychology Certification from the International Association of Professions Career College (IAP). I’m now a member of the International Coaching Federation (ICF), a world-renowned coaching program.
Beyond my professional endeavors, I have a deep love for serving, singing, exercising, reading, and continuing to draft short novels. But most importantly, I cherish spending time with my loved ones. In 2017, I also became a Co-Owner of a Non-Profit Organization, further extending my passion for service and helping others.
This journey has been one of transformation and purpose, and I’m grateful for the way God has guided me through it all.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
When apply for Contracting BIDS, I have yet to receive an approval. Nevertherless-it motivates me to keep applying, cause I do know that eventually I will be approved. As a new Small Business, rejection is a part of growth. But that doesn’t mean I give up. I remain optimistic and available when business has presented an opportunity. NO to me means, Next Opportunity. I like to think I am very resilient, and I handle the business life accordingly.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
I have unlearned HASTINESS. Being in a rush to do something without all the facts and research leads to disaster. When I first started my business I was in a rush to get clients, fresh out of certification school-eager. Nonetheless, there was a lot I still had to learn.
