Alright, Marcus thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Do you think folks should manage their own social media or hire a professional? What do you do?
I manage my own social media ..I’ve made that choice because I want to learn every aspect about the social media business ..I’ve taken a certification course in social media for business but still learn something new everyday when I’m actually working on my platforms ..I’ve had positive results and just started getting paid for certain gigs my advice is to stay consistent and ACTUALLY engage .. some influencers make the mistake of thinking their too big to engage ..your community is your support
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
So I’ve always had a passion for content creation since I was young . When I was 13 I bought a camcorder and use to just record random stuff like football games with my friends . When I got older I started a blog/clothing line right after high school ..and I’m grateful that I did that even though I didn’t make any money because I learned a lot thru that experience .My followers know I always wanted to be behind the scenes with my first blog I didn’t have the confidence to be infront of the camera but I’m glad I got over that fear
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
I want to make a brand off me just being myself ..I don’t have to try to fit in the “influencer “ bubble .. I want to make partnerships based off me being authentic / genuine
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
Constiency is key ..even if you don’t have content to post you can repurpose your content to stay active
