How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?

Being an entrepreneur means you’ve got to be ready to pivot at any moment. It’s not just a skill, it’s a damn survival tactic. My journey? It’s been a masterclass in pivoting.
Picture this: It’s 2011, I’m fresh off the plane from Germany, landing in Nebraska with what I thought was a bulletproof plan. Work with my mom, learn the family business, take over one day. Boom, done deal, right? Wrong.
Two days after touchdown, my mom passes away. Just like that, my perfectly laid out life plan goes up in smoke. Talk about a wake-up call.
But here’s where it gets interesting. I’m sorting through mom’s stuff, and I stumble upon an old business ledger. It hit me like a ton of bricks – mom was telling me to start my own gig. So, at 26, I launched Suit Up! Tuxedos, Florals, and More. First major pivot,
Fast forward a bit. I’m chillin’ in my shop, chatting with a friend about her need for a marketing guru at a collision center down the street. After 30 minutes of listening to her, she offers me the job. 3 months later I sell my shop for 3X profit and dive into corporate America.
Eight years in corporate taught me a lot, but it also led me to finding my purpose in life. SO there I was balancing out my full time job, being a wife, mother, and coach when I find myself on stage, speaking to 800+ coaches, and BAM! It hits me. This is my power zone. This is where I’m meant to be.
December 2018, I said goodbye to corporate and hello (again) to entrepreneurship. This time, as a coach and speaker.
Now, let me drop some truth on you. Had I figured out the Quantum Approach earlier, I would’ve ditched the corporate gig way sooner and rocketed into my passion faster. But you know what? Every pivot, every twist and turn, it all led me here.
And here’s the kicker for all you entrepreneurs out there – pivoting isn’t just something you might have to do. It’s something you WILL have to do. Multiple times. It’s part of the game. We’d appreciate any insights you can share with us about selling a business.

Picture this: I’m running my tux shop, Suit Up! Tuxedos, Realness, and More, when BAM! My friend walks in with a job offer that lights me up like a Christmas tree. She gives me 7 days to decide. 3 days after she left – I called her and said – I’m in.
But here’s the deal: I’ve got a business to handle. Two choices – shut it down or sell it off. I chose option B, because that’s how Alpha Queens roll.
I hit the internet hard, researching every damn thing I could about selling a business. Then, I got creative. I tracked down every local tux shop owner I could find. I’m talking old school detective work, but with a laptop instead of a magnifying glass.
Once I had my targets, I crafted a pitch that would make even the toughest sharks on Shark Tank sit up and take notice. I laid out the value, the potential, the whole package.
And you know what? It worked like a charm. I sold that shop for 3X the profit. Easy peasy.
Here’s the lesson: You don’t need a fancy degree or a rolodex full of connections to make big moves. What you need is guts, determination, and the willingness to figure shit out on your own.
That sale? It wasn’t just about the money. It was proof that with the right mindset and a bit of hustle, you can make anything happen. It was a stepping stone to bigger and better things.
