We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jannah Mccall. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jannah below.
Alright, Jannah thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What’s the best or worst investment you’ve made (either in terms of time or money)? (Note, these responses are only intended as entertainment and shouldn’t be construed as investment advice)
Purchasing my first professional camera was the best financial decision I’ve ever made. I realized I needed a change when I was stressed out by storage problems and the quality of my content, which is why I bought the camera. I used to always use my phone to take pictures and record my YouTube videos, but I never felt satisfied with it since I always felt like something was missing. When I was in high school, I used to feel as like I had to have a camera in order to be accepted by the other creators because I was constantly being made fun of for recording on my phone. Until I realized that the videos I shot with my phone were the ones that my channel received the most views for. Generally speaking, my decision to purchase the camera paid off because I made an investment in my success and am using it to accomplish great things. The lesson I’ve learned is to ignore the opinions of others and not let their feelings influence me, as they lack the bravery to follow my lead.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’m Jannah McCall. Hi. I’m known as Jannah Tynee. Jan-nuh Ty-Nae. I’m a YouTuber, content creator, influencer, model aspiring, artist, and mentor. I stand apart from other influencers because I genuinely help my audience and provide them my entire, unfiltered self. Since they are my audience, I pay closer attention to how they are feeling and what they want because sometimes you must put forward something to get something back. Because social media may have a significant impact on how people view themselves and interact with others in real life, I’m proud of myself for not compromising who I am. I want everyone to understand that I’m not just a young lady standing in front of the camera. I’m human and I have feelings, but I’m also stronger than most people think. Never will I give up on anything.

Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative?
One thing about my experience as a creator that I believe non-creators find difficult to comprehend is that I haven’t always had an audience that like my work. Making material is simple, but getting viewers to interact with it is challenging because I’m not always satisfied with the outcomes of my efforts. It’s challenging to be a content creator in this generation since people don’t like originality. They encourage you to stop being unique and instead do what every other creative does. It’s hard to be fake in front of a camera and I just can’t be fake.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
One major goal in my career is to just share my creativity with the world. I want everyone to know who I am and to give me my flowers while I’m here. I want to at least be known as someone that tried something new and successfully accomplished it. My creativity is what makes me who I am today and represents what I want in life. Which is just to be heard and understood.
