We were lucky to catch up with Fleur Childs recently and have shared our conversation below.
Fleur, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you tell us about a time where you or your team really helped a customer get an amazing result?
“The Artful Bachelorette event was more than an art class. I don’t know if it’s because of this current, exceptionally busy season in my life, but this event was more than an art class, it was catharsis. Being in the presence of such supportive company, being allowed to be creative without judgement but with full support of the instructor, the model, and my girlfriends/attendees, really made my evening.
Speaking of the (beautiful) model, I feel like his ease and comfort with his body as we were drawing made us all feel at ease. Personally, it made me reflect on my body and appreciate it more in all its glory, even as it undergoes its many changes.
All in all, this was a 10/10 experience and one I wouldn’t hesitate to do again and again! Fleur and Nicole are THE BEST! I highly recommend The Artful Bachelorette and encourage anyone to check it out.”

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Hello, I’m Fleur Childs, the owner and founder of The Artful Bachelorette. My journey into this unique industry began back in 2012, with a concept I brought over from Australia. It all started when a close friend of mine was getting married. She wasn’t interested in the usual bachelorette party options like a strip show or high tea, so I suggested something different—drawing a hot, naked model. She was completely taken aback, not quite sure what I was talking about, but it turned out to be an absolute hit.
This first party in NYC was a big success, and it made me realize that there was something special about combining art with celebration. I’ve always been passionate about drawing, the beauty of the human form, throwing parties, and nurturing female friendships. The Artful Bachelorette became the perfect way to bring all these passions together into an experience that is both creative and empowering.
At The Artful Bachelorette, we offer a unique blend of fun and artistic expression. We create unforgettable experiences where our clients can engage in life drawing sessions, often featuring a nude model, in a setting that’s both tasteful and celebratory. Our events are perfect for bachelorette parties, birthdays, corporate events, and any occasion where you want to do something a little out of the ordinary.
What sets us apart is our dedication to providing a safe, inclusive, and creatively stimulating environment. We solve the problem of finding a party idea that is both entertaining and meaningful—something that encourages people to connect in a deeper way, through art and laughter.
I’m incredibly proud of how we’ve grown over the years and the community we’ve built around The Artful Bachelorette. What I want potential clients and followers to know is that our events are about more than just having a good time; they’re about celebrating the human form, embracing creativity, and fostering connections among friends. We’re not just throwing a party—we’re creating an experience that leaves a lasting impression.
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
During the COVID pandemic, like many others, I had to pivot in both business and life. With in-person gatherings off the table, The Artful Bachelorette transitioned to offering online parties. One of the most memorable experiences during this time was hosting a Galentine’s Day party for Drew Barrymore and her friends—virtually, and even on TV!
While nothing quite compares to the energy of an in-person event, this virtual experience was special in its own right. It allowed us to connect and celebrate in a time when so many of us were feeling isolated and down. The pandemic was an incredibly challenging and sad period, but finding a way to bring joy and creativity into people’s lives, even from afar, was truly fulfilling. This pivot wasn’t just about keeping the business going; it was about finding a way to continue fostering connection and celebration, despite the circumstances.
Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?
I met my business partner the way many fresh-off-the-boat Australians do—through another Aussie immigrant in NYC. We connected over drinks and dinner, and it was one of those instant best-friend moments. We were laughing and scheming right from the start, and within a year, we had started The Artful Bachelorette.
But as life would have it, within two years, she became homesick and decided to return to Australia to be with her three sisters and family. Meanwhile, I stayed here in NYC, and 13 years later, I’m still loving it and grinding away. It’s been quite the journey, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
