Moesha , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?

From a young age, I was always drawn to creative expression. One of my earliest memories is setting up my mom’s cellphone to film my own YouTube videos, long before I even knew what a vlog was. I would spend hours scripting scenes, directing my siblings and friends, and editing the footage to create “mini movies” that I proudly shared with my family. Alongside these video projects, I found joy in writing songs and plays, imagining entire worlds and stories that I could bring to life.

This passion for creating content only grew as I got older. I began to explore different mediums, from writing and music to graphic design and digital media. The more I created, the more I realized that this was what I was meant to do. Each project, whether it was a new video, or a writing piece, reinforced my desire to follow a creative path. Looking back, it’s clear that those early experiments with a camera and a few imaginative ideas were the first steps on a journey that led me to where I am today—dedicated to a career in the creative arts.

My journey into the creative industry began with a childhood passion for storytelling and self-expression through songs, plays, and videos. This passion evolved as I pursued a degree in Mass Communications, where I refined my skills in content creation, digital media, and user experience design.

Today, I specialize in creating multimedia content that helps clients tell their stories through digital marketing strategies, graphic design, and video production. What sets me apart is my ability to blend creativity with strategy, ensuring every project not only looks great but also delivers results. My approach is collaborative, and I’m dedicated to bringing your vision to life, whether through powerful storytelling, eye-catching graphics, or comprehensive content strategies.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?

In 2019, I faced two life-altering challenges: surviving Hurricane Dorian, a category five hurricane that devastated my home in the Bahamas, and navigating the global pandemic that followed later that year. The aftermath of the hurricane was a difficult period—working in the dark due to load shedding, cooking on a portable stove, and dealing with poor water quality became part of my daily routine. When COVID-19 struck, I had to adapt to a new way of learning, navigating my courses digitally for the first time while also coping with the broader effects of the global pandemic.

Despite these hardships, I remained dedicated to my education, ultimately graduating as the salutatorian of my class with a 3.96 GPA\3.7 cumulative and earning 9 BGCSE’s (National Examinations) with a grade C or better. These experiences have taught me resilience and adaptability, qualities that have profoundly shaped my creative journey and continue to drive my commitment to overcoming obstacles in pursuit of my goals.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?

For me, the most rewarding aspect of being an artist or creative is the ability to connect with others through my work. There’s something incredibly fulfilling about seeing how my ideas and expressions resonate with people, evoke emotions, or even inspire them. Whether it’s through a piece of writing, a graphic design, or a video, knowing that my creativity can make a difference or spark a conversation is deeply gratifying.
