Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Alyssa Bette. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alyssa, appreciate you joining us today. What sort of legacy are you hoping to build. What do you think people will say about you after you are gone, what do you hope to be remembered for?
I hope to be remembered for changing the narrative surrounding mental health. I want to be remembered for living authentically, embracing my struggles openly and in turn inspiring others to do the same.
There is so much power in authenticity and embracing vulnerability over perfection. It would be my greatest honour to leave a legacy of inspiring people to be their truest selves.

Alyssa, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I founded the company Mindfull Mode Boutique, with the intent to make mental health fashionable and normalized.
I offer high quality jewelry, accessories and loungewear that advocates for mental health. Some of the items are engraved and printed with phrases such as; “Anxious but Cute”, “Therapy is Cool” “Self Love”, “I am Enough”, “Blessed but a lil Depressed” and a range of other inspirational and motivational phrases. All of which encompass discussion around mental health.
My vision was to create a trendy, high fashion mental health brand. I believed that in doing so people would feel more confident in owning their struggles.
This company has been a very cathartic outlet for myself and the struggles I have with mental health. It has also given my customers and my team a safe space to be themselves and own their struggles without fear of judgment.
Beautiful things happen when individuals feel they can be 100% themselves, mental illness at all. That is our intention with the brand.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
I grew up in a rough household with very abusive parents. I lived in survival mode for most of my childhood and when emerging into the real world I struggled with severe addiction issues as a result.
Substances were the only thing I knew of that helped managed the pain of the mental health disorders I was diagnosed with, as a result of my childhood.
I struggled with addiction for about 10 years before making the decision to get sober and take ahold of my life. I honestly got so sick of living in a toxic cycle, of remaining in the victim mindset and not making any effort to be better, for me.
I am sober now and the year I got sober I had the idea to launch my company, Mindfull Mode. Ever since then I have been on an immersive healing journey and have learned how to cope with my mental health in healthy ways.
I have since launched a podcast called, ‘Full Minded with Alyssa Bette’ which normalizes all facets of the human experience. I share my journey openly and vulnerably with the world, in hopes to inspire and bring comfort to those who feel as lost as I once did.

How do you keep your team’s morale high?
I check in with my team often on a work level and mental health level. We have weekly team calls which are designed to discuss the prior weeks, sales, events, wholesome customer stories, any new role outs, etc. We always end the call with one thing we are all grateful for. It has quickly become a tradition and something we all look forward to.
I have made myself available for my staff to come to me on a work level and also if they are in need of advice and mentoring in their personal lives. I hold space for them to be human and make error without criticizing them.
It is such an honour to be the one in charge of fostering a healthy and inclusive work environment for my team.
It is my mission to build a team that respects and believes in Mindfull Mode but more importantly respects and believes in themselves.
