We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jessica Mollo a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Jessica, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s start with something countless entrepreneurs have had to figure out on the fly – how have you dealt with the rise of remote work?

The key to working remote is structure, achievable checklist, check-ins and scheduled time off. Yep, I even schedule “time off” in my calendar to help keep my mind (& teams mind) focused on work now, play later! The huge pitfall is staying on task, sticking to the calendar & getting things done when no one is over your shoulder. So setting the schedules followed by check-ins help! AND seeing “time off” is a huge way to zone in knowing time off is there! In our business you NEED to be creative, and have freedom to do so… the non-obvious benefit IS making your own schedule and working when that creativity is flowing. As long as you hit those check-ins and complete the check list, you can work when is best for you which we all truly love!

Jessica, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

Owner of Piper Fox Social, Co-Owner of Non-Profit QC SWAP, and Children’s book author. Boy Mom to Beckett (4) and Baby Rowan (3 months!!) I live in CLT with my hubs and 2 dogs, PIPER and Winston. Who yes, they look like foxes… hence Piper Fox.

I started Piper Fox Social back in 2019 after owning my own creative business for 2 years. I was working endless hours, trying to do it all and trying to keep up on Social Media. I started to realize social media was actually the fun part. It was what made me happy and I was really really great at it! I made the official swap in 2019 and shifted fully to Piper Fox Social. Fast forward to today, I am managing + training and we’re now a full on Social Media Studio! Now I’m living out my dream of teaching, while dancing like a silly person on reels. I’m cheering on other small business owners and truly enjoying every minute of seeing them shine.

Small business owners have SO much on their plate and wear so many hats. My goal is to help alleviate some of that! I want to be their #1 hype girl and help them grow big through social media. I take pride in our brand, small biz and my awesome team that I absolutely couldnt do it without!

My team and I keep it ALL in house and carefully craft our clients content to reflect their brand, personality and goals. Plus, we specialize in both organic and paid social media marketing giving them all the options when it comes to optimizing an online presence and making sales.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?

I always say that no-one is perfect and we’re all human. I take full responsibility of something if it goes wrong. I aim to keep a smile on my clients faces and truly anyone in my path. I pivot when I need to and work as much as the job calls for when needed. Overall, I am the face thats always smiling no matter the situation and I pride myself in knowing no matter how you feel when I get there, you’ll atleast have a smile on your face when I’m leaving. I’m the biggest cheerleader for biz owners! It’s not all butterflies but it is all worth it. And I’ll forever be the one in this industry to make things right if they are ever wrong. I dont have it in me to walk away, and that’s what makes me, me. It’s what makes our team the team CLT chooses. Community first. Lifting Others Daily. Better together — It’s a lifestyle <3

How did you build your audience on social media?

Social Media is my speciality! After years of school and daily hands-on, I’d call myself an expert! HOWEVER, I am still learning every single day – growth is key in my world. I show up every single day on social media and I truly CONNECT with my followers. I make sure each one of them knows, I know they are there. It’s super important to not just “post and ghost” you need to post, connect and be a person they feel like they know / Be someone they know!– even if it is just on the ‘gram.
