We were lucky to catch up with Prime recently and have shared our conversation below.
Prime, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. How did you learn to do what you do? Knowing what you know now, what could you have done to speed up your learning process? What skills do you think were most essential? What obstacles stood in the way of learning more?
Since childhood, I have utilized drawing as a means of escape from the turbulent environment within my household. By the middle school years, I had developed a talent for selling my artwork to my classmates. Concurrently, I also excelled in portrait drawing. During my high school years, I pursued graphic design classes. My artistic abilities remained dormant for the majority of my life until I rediscovered them through my pursuit of content creation. If I had maintained consistency, I believe my skills could have flourished further. However, I acknowledge the significant value of formal education in the fundamentals and technical aspects of any art form one aspires to master.
In my opinion, the most crucial skill for an artist is the unwavering love and passion for their craft. Without this passion, the work becomes arduous and devoid of soul. The second essential skill is the ability to envision the final product. Imagination is instrumental in conceptualizing how something can and will appear completed. It also plays a pivotal role in overcoming challenges during the creative process. Lastly, I would emphasize the importance of having a well-rounded toolset, encompassing both traditional hand-drawn techniques and digital software. The proficiency with these tools significantly influences the difficulty level and the overall quality of the completed project.
Honestly, the primary obstacle that has hindered my progress has been my own inability to maintain focus for extended periods. This has been a contributing factor to my adoption of the name “Prime.” It serves as a reminder of my prime years, emphasizing the importance of giving my utmost effort in every endeavor. It is a call to become the best version of myself and to eliminate any impediments that may hinder my growth.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Certainly. My name is Prime, and I was originally from Cleveland, Ohio. I have resided in Charlotte, North Carolina, for the majority of my life. I hold a veteran’s status from the United States Navy Submarine Service, am an avid Dallas Cowboys fan, and am involved in stock trading and investment. My aspiration is to impart my knowledge and expertise to others, empowering them to effectively manage their financial affairs.
During my middle school years, I discovered a natural aptitude for portrait drawing, which I believe reached its peak during that period. I capitalized on this talent by selling my artwork to fellow students for $15 each. After completing graphic design in high school, I allowed my artistic abilities to languish for approximately a decade. However, I eventually transitioned into content creation, which reignited my passion for the business.
I recognized my talent, experience, and foresight to address gaps in the YouTube sector. This pursuit has led me to solve practical problems for my customers in real life. I am capable of creating exceptionally detailed and customized artwork that aligns perfectly with their preferences and requirements. To such an extent that a single graphic design project can transform into a comprehensive rebranding initiative.
What fills me with the greatest pride is the decision I made to pursue my artistry as a means of providing for others. I felt a profound sense of conviction that this path was the right one. The rapid growth and recognition I have garnered as a sought-after graphic designer have provided me with immense validation. My next endeavor is to expand my services into video editing, followed by establishing a comprehensive one-stop-shop digital marketing agency.
We’d love to hear your thoughts on NFTs. (Note: this is for education/entertainment purposes only, readers should not construe this as advice
As an artist, if you are interested in NFTs, you may consider attempting to sell your work. As an investor, I would not hesitate to consider this opportunity. There is a potential for NFTs to fulfill their publicized potential, although at present, it presents a lucrative avenue for individuals to profit from skepticism.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
I have dedicated myself to ensuring that all avenues of my income are derived from activities that genuinely excite me. I firmly believe that this approach sets me apart from many others, as I am willing to invest my time and effort into work that would otherwise be gratis.
