We recently connected with Jonathan Conrado and have shared our conversation below.
Jonathan , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Risk taking is something we’re really interested in and we’d love to hear the story of a risk you’ve taken.
I took a risk for myself and for my family. During my journey of becoming a well known Dj/ Business owner I always kept this words in my head “Don’t be afraid of being different but be afraid of being like everyone else” and until this day my dreams have come true.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is JC but every one knows me as (DJ JC HOUSTON) everything started as a dream, I always like music and enjoy seen my cousin been a dj seen him been with a lot of big artist and working on the radio that make me want it to do what he was doing. One day he invited me to his apartment and told me he can teach me how to be a dj and use the equipment after I learn a little be and started liking it, I put a goal in mind to create a company so I can be able to promote my self for the clubs and bars to start booking me. when I started thinking about the name I came out with (EVENTOS EN HOUSTON) what got my attention about the name is that when people come out of town and they want to go out the first thing they would seach is ( EVENTOS EN HOUSTON) but the idea about this company was to take it to another level. I had save $5,000 so I decided to invest that money in a artist I contacted the manager of a bachata group call (24 Horas) and lost money but that help me not give up to my dream and keep working until I brought for the first time to Houston the famous Colombian artist (J Balvin) that push me to start doing more events and the name was getting out there so I keep it going and brought ( FARRUKO, J ALVAREZ, DE LA GHETTO, JOWELL & RANDY, EL ALFA, JORY BOY, ZION Y LENNO, GUAYNA, ALEX ROSE, JON Z, LENNY TAVAREZ, and more. I Had the biggest opportunity to open for the biggest artist in the world at the biggest venue in Houston (Toyota Center) for ( BAD BUNNY ) it was a crazy and one of the best experience that I had in my life. Thanks to Corporate Chris and my team that put it together.
How did you build your audience on social media?
I started building the audience on social media by bringing all this artist and working in a lot of content on my social media.
How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
I had to save money of the quinceaneras, weddings, with the money that I saved and that’s how I brought my first artist with the $5,000 that I had and like I say I had lost money in my first event but like I say, its been moneys where a lot of people don’t like you to succeed, but I always keep it positive.
