Today we’d like to introduce you to Manjit Rukhra

Hi Manjit, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?

From the age of 18 years old, I’ve had this entrepreneurial spirit in me to now being a full time real estate investor and investing coach. Born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, my business adventure began when a friend and I (with the support of our parents) ventured into the vending machine business.

This initial foray into the world of business was challenging, especially as we had no prior experience and no mentor, but it laid the foundation for my future endeavors. After a few years of navigating the complexities of this business, trying to set up locations for the vending machines, we decided to sell that business.

My next significant opportunity came a few years later through an introduction to the financial planning world by my uncle. He had recently joined a network marketing company that focused on insurance and investment products. I joined this company at the age of 23 and spent five transformative years learning the intricacies of business, sales, prospecting, and presentation skills, thanks to the guidance and support of my first real business mentor. This period was crucial in shaping my professional skills and confidence.

Feeling that I had reached a plateau in my growth within financial planning, I was ready for a new challenge. Real estate investing caught my attention, and I decided to leave my position in financial planning. I then took up a job as a Correctional Officer while pursuing my passion for real estate on the side. Over the past 16 years, I have been fortunate to build a successful real estate investing business, which eventually allowed me to leave my 9-5 job.

Today, I have personally been involved in over 143 real estate transactions including flipping houses, buying rentals and building infills without using my own cash or credit (a specialized skill i have learned over time). This journey has not only been rewarding financially but also fulfilling on a personal level. My passion for real estate and helping others achieve their goals led me to establish Prosper Path, an online real estate education company. Through Prosper Path, I have the privilege of teaching other Canadians how to start and grow their own real estate investing businesses. We cater to both beginners and experienced investors, advising them on various sources of capital to profitably buy rentals, flip houses, and wholesale residential real estate without having to use their own funds for every single transaction.

I take immense pride in the systems I’ve built and the experience I’ve gained in the industry, which have enabled me to mentor hundreds of investors, helping them replicate my success. Beyond my professional life, I am blessed to be married to my wife, Jill, and together we have two wonderful boys. We are active members of our community and our church, where we serve together.

My entrepreneurial journey has been marked by continuous learning, resilience, failures and a passion for helping others achieve their dreams. I am excited about the future and the opportunity to inspire and guide more people towards financial independence through real estate investing.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?

The road to success has definitely not been smooth. Like many entrepreneurs, I faced significant challenges, particularly during times when progress seemed slow. Self-doubt often crept in, especially when I encountered setbacks, such as investing in bad deals and losing money. These experiences were tough and sometimes disheartening. I remember countless times asking myself, “Am i cut out for this business?, Maybe i should quit and do something else, What if i don’t find investors”…

However, I learned to continually remind myself of my goals and the reasons behind my journey. Understanding that struggles are an inherent part of the entrepreneurial process helped me stay focused and resilient. Each challenge taught me valuable lessons and ultimately contributed to my growth and success in the real estate industry where i am able to share my experiences with many others who may be going through similar a journey.

We specialize in helping real estate investors gain the skills and access the capital they need to succeed by leveraging other people’s money to buy real estate. We also help investors by learning how to locate and negotiate off market properties being sold directly by a home owner so they don’t have to use traditional methods of finding properties, by searching on the MLS or using realtors.
