Hi Corey (ØBE), we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Corey Coleman (ØBE), and I am the innovator and creator of the hottest new indie comic Shaolin Moorz.
Shaolin Moorz follows the story of Yah, Clotho, and Void. 3 friends that come from different walks of life, that join together to unify the Neo-African country Twilight to battle against the corporate giant Borgia who has invaded, poisoned, and caused division amongst the nation.
You will experience this journey through each of their eyes as they are faced with similar obstacles that expose the trio’s core values, and how they process situations as they make life changing decisions due to their personal background and upbringing.
These decisions will cause significant change, discord, and potential long lasting ramifications that not only affect them but also everyone else in their world.
This story is injected with so many life lessons, battles, scenarios and culture for everyone to enjoy. Shaolin Moorz will bring together and blend cultures from African, Asian, Indigenous,Mayan, Norse, Greek and more.
Shaolin Moorz was recently launched/released last year December 2023 at L.A. Comic Con where the comic was positively received by the audience and sold out by the end of the show. The project has been well received selling over 300 issues since its release.
Humble Beginnings:
This journey started 9 years ago and I built the story, concepts and characters from the ground up. I spent many years self developing as a leader, building my networking skills, scouted a team of talented artists, and collaborated with my partner Rudy to develop this project. It originally began as a self-funded project that grew further thanks to our supporters/backers via Kickstarter who helped bring the project to life!
As an artist who was born and raised in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, I desired to see more diverse anime characters that represented my culture. From that desire, a concept was spiritually gifted to me by the Universe, and I’ve co-created it to manifest the visuals that you are experiencing today. I am grateful for the opportunity to share such an awesome gift with you all to experience.
My journey has been beautiful because of the life lessons, successes, failures and most importantly the evolution that I’ve experienced over these years. These experiences taught me to learn and implement what it truly takes to be a well-balanced human in this world and live from a space of giving love.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
As I’ve grown older in age, life is a combination of experiences that are truly about perspective. The times that I’ve felt that things were either smooth or turbulent, It was actually perfect and still necessary for my growth spiritually and physically. Sometimes we need to be in situations that we consider turbulent to help motivate us to try things that we naturally wouldn’t think to do, or allow ourselves to go with the flow when things are going smoothly.
Challenge 1:
My journey has been the definition of ebbs and flows because in the end I’ve always been exactly where I needed to be no matter what I was experiencing. There were times where I had to learn lessons on strengthening my financial stability. At one point in my life, That required me to work 3 jobs at once, which wasn’t ideal. But I learned so much about money management and saving money that by the time I elevated financially to working 1 job with a higher salary, I could manage all of the extra cash flow without overspending.
Challenge 2:
There was another scenario where I had to lose a significant amount of weight because my health was being severely impacted by my lack of self-care. I had to learn and practice self-discipline in the kitchen and the gym to make strides toward my weight loss goal where I successfully lost over 90 lbs. This required a lot of early mornings and late nights in the gym. This portion of my growth started during the COVID pandemic.
Challenge 3:
I also have 3 younger children which required me to pivot more as a father. Work-Life BALANCE requires a lot of schedule adjustments to be successful. It can also be unpredictable at times because I’m having to manage my children’s needs, and desires. But over the years I’ve continued to be a great father and make time for all of my children.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am an Artist/Innovator/Mentor for the brand IF LIFE CREATIONS/ IF LIFE COMICS and we are a self-publishing comic company from Arkansas. I have been building this brand for 9 years and recently took it on the road to various Comic Conventions such as LA Comic Con, WonderCon, Dream Con and more. I specialize in character creation, story building, networking and innovation. I’m well known for completing projects, networking amongst my peers, and connecting other artists together. If there is a need, I typically know someone that can fulfill it.
I’ve also helped my peers secure jobs, art projects, write letters of recommendations, and we’ve also featured artists at Comic Cons. I’ve personally hired various artists to work on our projects. I’m very business oriented and enjoy teaching others how to bring their own projects to life and how to legally protect their work by utilizing trademarks/copyrights.
I’m most proud of my ability to connect with others because naturally I’m introverted and quiet. But during my time working in the corporate world, I’ve learned how to operate as an extrovert when needed. This has allowed me to become even more expressive and open with people.
The trait that sets me apart from the rest is that I finish what I start and the finished product will always be high quality. I also support other artists/businesses and happily assist others so that they can win at life as well. I don’t want to be the only person winning at the table. I want to see everyone win. It’s truly exciting to see someone learn and step into their power of authenticity.
At IF LIFE COMICS, We also provide a mentorship program where you can study under us and learn our methods on how to bring your own comic project to life. We have been successful in this venture and currently have been working with our Mentee The Great Joshua Mishoe.
Josh has been studying under our brand for 1 year now and has successfully sold out of all 3 of his comic issues for his launch project No Retreat No Surrender! He is a phenomenal student that has been fully focused on his goals and mission in life. He also has been currently developing a couple new projects to highlight the culture of his home town.

My goal for these comic projects is to inspire others to tap into oneself and discover the different layers that lie within.
We are all unique, but unfortunately most of us have been dealing with unhealed trauma, abuse, lies, and have been misled into living life as the next person instead of by our own design.
There is a need for more authenticity in this world and there are plenty of unique individuals that have yet to discover their power. Balance must be restored.
