Today we’d like to introduce you to Christian Cashelle
Hi Christian, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I fell in love with writing the age of 8. I wrote a poem and the teacher’s aid laminated it and put it on the bulletin board. Reading the poem now, I have no clue where the inspiration came from but it sparked my passion. This carried over into high school where I found a popular message board filled with fanfiction (stories where the group B2K was used as main characters and placed in fantasy positions). My writings grew in popularity online, so I decided to print them and grow an audience at my high school. I was surprised at how much my stories grew in popularity. I even had to create a library system where people would come to my locker and check them in and out so it was easier to keep track of them. Kids would get in trouble in class for reading my books instead of doing their work. It wasn’t until my senior year of high school that I began to take it seriously and think about the possibility of publishing professionally. My longevity is solely due to my passion for the written word and being able to transcend into a different world without leaving my bed.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
During my first year of college, I decided to self-publish my first novel. It was horrible! It was not edited, the formatting was off and the cover was very bland! I was so excited to be a published author but I realized then I had a lot to learn. While trying to promote my first book, I began a deep dive into researching the industry, what all was expected of published authors and what stigma self-published authors have. That was when I began to get serious about what services I would offer and what my process of publishing would be. I used my next few publications as “test drives” since I was the author, it took less pressure off to succeed in the industry. It wasn’t until 2014 that I began to publish others, now having a standard operating procedure on editing, formatting and design, printing, and distribution. Getting into the literary industry is a never ending battle that I wasn’t prepared for. I’ve had plenty of failed attempts at working with bookstores. Each project is not a best seller and at times I feel overlooked as an author and a publisher, but it is the price for doing what I love. If the road was smooth, there would be nothing for the plot. 😊
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?

I’m most proud of our resilience and integrity.
What sets us apart is our compassion for authors because we are authors. We understand the need to be authentic and keep the tone genuine. It makes all the difference when offering editing services.
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
Having a thick skin! Learning not to take business as a personal issue has been my number one game changer. Even if my writing is personal, I have to realize that reviews are subjective: I have to take what is constructive and apply it if needed while leaving all of the noise behind.
