We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Roman Royel. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Roman below.
Alright, Roman thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s go back in time to when you were an intern or apprentice – what’s an interesting story you can share from that stage of your career?
Before I ever hit the stage with a mic I was building concerts, wiring festivals and audio engineering venues. I got to hear how other artist built their sets and how a generic set can drown in a crowd of 10,000. One day in particular I was starting a new gig where the singers had been use to singing through mics without any live effects. It didn’t sound bad but once they were added.. you could see crowds energy build. It motivated me to see the positive engagement and reminded me why I love music so much.
A great concert doesn’t just provide a good show but it changes lives. I learned a lot of respect for the process it takes from building a song to building a show. Every day of training and practice takes you closer to your perfection. I feel like I am on an endless journey of learning music. Sounds good to me!

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I am Roman Royel, a Puerto Rican artist from California. I started Pairamilitary Music Group around the same time I started making music professionally in 2016. I love following a good vibe and finishing a great song. At the moment, we are still building our massive catalog while also dropping singles frequently. With talent like Took4Granted and Aln V we are building a unique sound out here in Los Angeles. You can call it a “music movement” but we really aim to provide a good show and hopefully a song you relate with completely.

Any resources you can share with us that might be helpful to other creatives?
It’s crazy cuz in this industry there are plugins dropping all the time that are life changing. I try to stay relevant with them but in my opinion some of them can be overkill. Experimenting is how we got the sound we jamming to now and it’s always growing. If I was to recommend a great resource, it would definitely be seek education. I was able to fast forward through trial and error by learning the trade from those who have already walked it.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
There are Veterans within our company, Pairamilitary Music Group. One of our core goals and driving forces in the creation of the company was to provide a successful outlet for veterans to express themselves through art. When we expanded, our focus also began providing quality studio engineering to our artist and collaborators. Eventually, we partnered up with some amazing businesses like the Wrecking Spot for the best studios and Abridge Ent. for artist relations. We’ll always be making sure the artist vision is only amplified by our support.
