We recently connected with Jeremiah Locke and have shared our conversation below.
Jeremiah, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
I’ve been immersed in creativity for as long as I can remember. Growing up in a household where my mother was both a performer and a designer, she was my primary inspiration to chase my own creative passions. Unlike my peers who were into sports, I found myself drawn to dancing, singing, and drawing on walls.
As a teenager, I delved into art classes and theatre, which really helped my creativity shine. I’m a natural performer, always putting on a show wherever I go.
When I moved to Australia at 19, I jumped into the world of interiors by launching my own homeware’s brand. After three successful years, I transitioned into interior design, a field I’ve been thriving in for over seven years. Running my own business has been incredibly rewarding, giving me the flexibility to pursue another dream—acting. I feel like I was born for the stage and screen, and now that I’m able to focus on this passion, it’s incredibly fulfilling.
Being on set feels like home to me; it’s where I truly belong. <3

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Picture this: at 19, a sassy little gay boy trades the plains of Kansas, USA for the sunny shores of Melbourne, Australia – talk about a leap of faith! Coming out as gay in a conservative corner of the world was like navigating a maze, but Melbourne’s kaleidoscope of colors and cultures became my safe haven.
My creative journey here began when I teamed up with my then partner and started a homewares brand. After 3.5 successful years, life became too short for just one passion. So, I dove headfirst into the world of interior design, where I’ve been living my wildest creative fantasies for 6 years.
Now at 29 it’s time to chase a bigger dream. Cue the spotlight and roll out the red carpet because this boy has got a flair for the dramatic. With a heart set on Hollywood and a background in theater, I auditioned for the TV & Film Acting course at NIDA (National Institute of Dramatic Art) – and guess what? They couldn’t resist my charm and I got in!
Now, as I juggle scripts and camera angles at NIDA, I’m ready to make magic happen. Sure, there’ll be hurdles along the way, but armed with love and a sprinkle of stardust, I’m ready to shine brighter than ever before. Bring it on, universe – this star is ready for her close-up!

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
The biggest lesson I had to unlearn was telling myself I couldn’t do it and learning to just take a risk and believe in myself. In life, you have nothing to lose, just try!! If you fail, that is okay.. keep going!! The most successful people in life failed 1,000 times over before the succeeded, so just keep trying!

In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?
Make it a requirement for ALL students to take a creative class, no matter what it is, just something that allows their brain to think creatively.
I believe that creative thinking is what allows people to understand differences and expand their mind beyond the normal textbook learning methods that the world believes we have to have.
