Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Bluto. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Bluto , thanks for joining us today. What was it like going from idea to execution? Can you share some of the backstory and some of the major steps or milestones?
After throwing a string of shows in the local dive bar scene of the San Fernando Valley, singer TImothy Stellar discovered local guitar prodigy Indiana Leary playing for a band called Mystery Rose. A few weeks after hearing him, just by chance, they met again through a mutual friend in a random encounter. After talking about music and guitar, both decided to start a new “supergroup” of local musicians, acquiring long time friends Ian Lindley to play bass and Josh Sturm to play Drums. After a few months of writing and rehearsing, played their first show at LA staple venue Corbin Bowl on Ventura Blvd, Feb 10th 2023.
After a year of playing together all over the greater LA area, they have two singles released, and an EP in the works.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Bluto
A four piece band that’s from the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles, that is looking to carry on the legacy of rock n roll bands before them and bring alternative rock back to it’s roots with sludgy guitar tones and heavy drums. With a wide variety of genres expanding to sounds of 70’s punk to 90’s grunge, they play whatever they feel like.
They are not only great musicians but are also self recording, mixing, and mastering their own singles and EP, coming out in winter of 2024, while they play their way through the famous sunset strip.
They are looking forward to planning tours up and down the west coast in 2025, as well as putting together their first full length album.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
The music industry in general, is a hard one to navigate. Nothing is a sure thing and lots of obstacles can arise at any given time. With Bluto, they show their resilience by letting nothing stop their momentum. In LA there is such and abundance of bands, and lots of these venues have sound guys that are jaded and just so tired of working that it doesn’t matter to them how the bands sound. Bluto is constantly on their toes with anything that could go wrong, be it live performances, or anything else
Bluto will always be resilient.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
The most effective strategy for growing followers/fans for Bluto would be playing shows, getting our name out there
people usually resonate with how Bluto preforms, enjoying the stage presence and overall great musical ability from the band
Most bands will purchase followers to make it look like their numbers are higher than they actually are, but Bluto has 500 of the most loyal fans and it keeps going up with every show and release, and we appreciate every single one
