Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Chris Bell. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Chris, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
I think the most meaningful project I’ve worked on is the album that Charlie, Kevin, and myself are currently writing. Charlie and I have been writing music together since high-school but I feel the new songs we’ve been working on are some of our best to date. It definitely feels like there’s something special about this album to us.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
We released our debut EP on October 30, 2020 which is available on our Bandcamp page or at Perceivedband.com for those that are interested. The new album will be a little different than our first release. The songs are a little longer this time around as well as a little heavier. They still have the peaks and valleys throughout them of course. We’re hoping to start pre-production on the new album before the end of the year. Once we get that close to finish we plan on hitting the studio at the beginning of the year. We’re really excited for everyone to check out the new stuff. If your in or around the DFW area, you can come out and hear some of the new music Friday July 22nd at O’Riley’s in Dallas. Visit our website for tickets and more information.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
For me, I think the most rewarding thing about being an artist in a band is getting to hang out and jam with my brothers. It’s definitely therapy for all of us. It’s also really cool connecting with people through our music. It’s a great feeling when someone we don’t know comes up to us and starts talking about how much they enjoyed the set or how much they like the music. That’s always magical.
: Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
Writing a full length album has always been a goal of ours. One of the things on my bucket list is to hold a vinyl record with my music on it. So that’s definitely driving me to get this next album finished. Hopefully we’ll be releasing new material some time early next year.
