We recently connected with WeLove Astro and have shared our conversation below.
Hi WeLove , thanks for joining us today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
The first time I knew that being an edm dj/producer is when I was around 14-15 I was living with my mom at the time I was in my room and a Martin Garrix song came on “In The Name of Love” when I heard that song I started watching Martin play UMF and I knew right then and there that I wanted to do that, but when I was younger I used to listen to a lot of Skrillex before I even knew edm was a genre I thought it was just loud sounds and I loved it lol.

WeLove , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I got into the industry when I was like 16-17 when I had moved in with my dad to Charlotte NC. I started off as a trap/hip-hop producer making beats for the local artist like Fat Dave, Hotboyshaq, A1k RoadRunna, Big Yba, and ZayTheGoat and some label artists like Rich Homie Quan and Dababy. As I got older I started engineering artists too my biggest sessions being Luh Tyler thanks to King Myers for putting the play together and Boston Richey thanks to my boy AwhMan and Trukk. As of now I don’t think I fully have a concept of the business side of things, I’m still learning the ropes of things. I wouldn’t consider myself a very disciplined person yet I’m still tryna figure out how I can discipline myself and stick to one things but my mind won’t let me lol. As for my craft I’m literally just now starting to actually like the songs I make after a year of making shit songs and trashing tracks but to get inspired I listen to some isoxo but when I make songs I want people to feel energetic and lethargic I want the energy to be high so that when they listen to it they feel like they’re at a party or a concert. What I feel like sets me apart from others is how I think and how I feel and it’s hard to explain without you being in my own head. What I want people to experience when I dj festivals and nightclubs is energy I want people to be energetic and lathargic so when they leave they have something to remember when they leave and I want to give them a core memory they’ll remember forever and will tell their kids.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
Yes. It’s to be truly free from everything I want to be able to wake up in the morning take a deep breath and know that I don’t have to do anything or worry about anything I want to be able to help my community in the background by building neighborhoods, starting programs, etc. that’s my mission and to help my family of course.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding part about being a dj/ producer is seeing the final product of what you make and then playing it for people and seeing their reactions seeing how it can change their mood and how they go about their day. I like the idea of giving people core memories in their lives that they’ll always remember.
