Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Chauntina Clark. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Chauntina, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
The mission of #TalksWithTina is to facilitate a healing journey that leads you back to the cross, back to Jesus. It would be remiss of me to not share how my personal healing journey started. After being in a serious situationship, I found myself in this place knowing that it needed to end, while also trying to grasp what void I was trying to fill by being with this person. Leaving this relationship wasn’t the end of my life, but truthfully it felt like a gut-wrenching end to something!
while contemplating my decision to continue to try and work things out, or truly follow what I knew was right and part ways. God showed up in a way that only He could. I was at work and a sermon called “eat like a king” showed up on my TikTok, and it touched my heart in a way that changed my life literally. I felt that this message in the sermon, was God reaching His hand out to me and pulling me from my pit.
I didn’t want to just experience another failed relationship or be on and off with someone for the rest of my life. I was desperate for a change. I was pursuing wholeness and true healing. That is how the intro to #TalksWithTina was birthed…” pursuing your most true and authentic self, by uncovering your roots.”
In order to learn who I was, I had to uncover how my life experiences really shaped me, but they do not define me.
What makes this mission special to me is sharing how God is healing me! I also get to witness Him heal those connected to the mission as well.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Chauntina Clark, I am a former ABA therapist and now I host a talk series called #TalksWithTina. Approximately three years ago, I had a supernatural encounter and experienced Jesus in an unimaginable way. I have always known that Jesus was real and prevalent in my life, however this was the moment that changed my life forever. My faith is the foundation of my brand, and the reason I was even able to start #TalksWithTina.
For most people, a breakup is just that… a breakup. For me it was the pain that pushed me into purpose. I learned how to heal the inner roots of my life. However, my healing journey was put on display, which is also something I never imagined myself doing. Starting #TalksWithTina and discussing the many ways God was healing me and restoring the parts of me I thought were lost…I have had the privilege to witness others start their healing journey, from what God was doing in my life.
Talks with Tina has branched out to be much bigger than just a talk series on social media. I have been blessed with the opportunity to host two conferences, and in February 2025 I will be hosting my third conference. The conferences I host, set out to bring individuals together from all walks of life and different stages of their life. The Goal of the conference is to focus on identifying and healing the roots of traumatic experiences that happen in life. With a variety of experts, ministers, and those with personal testimonies, we come together and share how to maneuver through the obstacles and challenges that life throws our way.
The Talks with Tina platform also partners with philanthropic organizations (such as Comfort the nation), to serve in different communities. I was blessed to travel to Sydney, Australia and while I was there, I was able to serve in a local church during my visit. I have recently started to travel and speaking to high school students about healing and how to love themselves and others properly. Although I have a short tenure in this field, it is my heart’s desire to serve in any capacity that I can, wherever I can.
lastly, with so many different podcast and platforms that focuses on healing. One thing that I love about what I do, is that I am able to create intimate spaces where people can be themselves fully and authentically. Not only is the space available for those who need it, I’m grateful that this is still a space for me to heal and grow as well.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I believe the number one way I was able to build my audience on social media was by, being myself. I know that sounds very cliche, but it was the only thing that I knew to do. We are all unique individuals and can bring something different to social media.
I believe this a key tip as well because when you are navigating social media, you have no idea who you are going to reach. I didn’t start out with a huge following, and honestly, I still don’t have a huge following. My content has connected me with people who share similar problems, or success stories, or those who are inspired by my journey.
My audience has grown organically though consistency, and authenticity. There were no viral moments for me, or big burst of followers. I simply remained consistent in what I believed was necessary for people to see and hear.
The number one piece of advice I would give to someone starting to build their social media presence, is to be yourself. As stated above, you are unique! Just as you were inspired by someone else to start creating on social media, whether it is their bravery, comedy, personality… you are that for someone as well.
The second thing I would recommend is, do not get caught up in the numbers or comparison. Often times we see or even try to emulate what works for someone else, that may not be the avenue that works for you. Again, be yourself. When creating content, always remember your why. It is easy to get caught up in the logistics of it all, but when the forefront is always your “why” it becomes easier to stay levelheaded.
Any fun sales or marketing stories?
When I think of one of my favorite marketing/ sales stories, I think of my first conference. I am a small creator, I’m a female, I never hosted any event prior, I didn’t have any merchandise that I sold, and I’m hosting a Christian event … yet here I was hosting my first conference. I have a pretty outgoing personality, so I attempted to use my social skills to gather people for this event. My first conference was called “Broken but better” and the premise was there are things in life that break you, but you don’t have to stay broken forever. Wonderful. Now how do you articulate that to get people to come to an event, hosted by someone they do not know?
The beauty of doing what I’m called to do, is I have to go through what I am advertising. It wasn’t until I went through a fast during the planning of this conference, where my suffering was the selling point to my event. I did a 10-day water fast, and my body basically attacked itself and I had a full body breakout (pictures attached). I was TERRIFIED to step outside, let alone show my face to advertise for my conference. I had just released tickets online, and now I had to make videos for advertising while looking like a zombie. I faced my fears, and I went forward with showing everyone how I was “broken but better”. By the time my came, my breakout was almost completely healed and again it was a physical manifestation to seal what I attempting to articulate in the theme of the conference.
The challenges I faced were the very things that helped my first conference become a success.
