We were lucky to catch up with Tiffany, Veronica, Andrea T. recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Tiffany, Veronica, Andrea thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to hear your thoughts about family businesses.
Family is important to us. In today’s world , everyone is for self and not interested in helping others especially family members. The are ways that everyone can put their talents together and build a successful business. However, It is important to build this business with people who are willing to go through each and every storm that will come with starting and maintaining it. If this is your vision and it is important to you and you know someone will only be in it for the money , DON’T DO BUSINESS WITH THEM! There will always be conflict when the money is not adding up for them and we all know money is the route to all evil. While being wealthier is one of the goals, the contribution of your talent to the world is far more important. If you are putting in more work than your business partner/s, then maybe you need to consider if they are people you are trying to do business with. Being business owners is not easy and you want to partner with people who are equally interested in changing the world with you. Starting a family business require a new level of maturity. You have to learn to forgive and forget, don’t take things personal, and to agree to disagree. Especially at the height of stressful situations. God willing, we would love Glori Eats to flourish to where it can last through generation to generation with new creative ideas that our children’s children can import into the business. We are Praying all the hard work and dedication that we are putting into Glori Eats now will inspire our children to be business owners as well. We didn’t grow up around business owners to show us the rope so this is very important to us. We are better together! You don’t have to do it alone. There are some things that one can do better than another, there are areas that one person can thrive in that another may struggle in. That doesn’t mean that it won’t work and that you shouldn’t do business with that person. It just means we can use each others strengths. I’m more financially responsible, I should be in charge of our finances and you are good at communicating with people so you should be in charge of customer service and advertising. Although we are in business together, we each have our own individual talents and personal business ideas that we would like to venture off to as well. This is also important!

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
We are a mother Daughter Trio from Brooklyn, New York. We moved to Atlanta 11 years ago. We want to bring not only the culture of New York to Atlanta but also our nationalities. We are collectively African American, Puerto Rican, and Indian, and Trinidadian. We incorporate all ethnicities in our meals. We cook soul food, Hispanic foods, Caribbean food, and seafood because of our love for it. We’ve always heard “You’re talent is God’s gift to you, What you do with it is your gift back to God”. We honor God with every meal we cook. We want to make sure he is represented in our business because we wouldn’t be without him. We think that’s what set us apart. We watched my grandmother cook. She cooked every Sunday and it brought the whole family together. Cooking was her love Language, and it is now ours. She would always say the best way to a man’s heart is through his stomach lol. Glory in the bible means “The manifesting of God’s presence”. My grandmother’s name is Gloria. We dropped the A in Gloria and changed the Y in Glory to an I. God put it in my heart to make that the name of the business. I added Eats and Glori Eats was birthed!
We are working on trying to cater full time and eventually an open restaurants. We’re building our clients now and appreciate every opportunity God Blessed us with

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
Love and Just being you!
Love because we have a love for cooking so we cook with love. You can taste it in our meals. I believe our clients enjoy our meals because of that very reason. We think of our clients while we are cooking.
Being you because there are so many caters in this world. Everyone is going viral for cooking recipes, there a restaurants popping up everywhere who all make similar meals as we do. But they are not us! You’re unique craft sets you apart from everyone else who may have a similar craft. We try not to change because of what may be “popular” at the moment. We look at other businesses and think of what we can do differently that will work for us. That doesn’t mean we hate on those other businesses. The world is big enough for everyone to eat! Literally!

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
Anxiety is at an all time high in today’s world. We are in the middle of an inflation, A Presidential debate that can change everything our ancestors fought for, nothing is making sense there is so much hate and evil in this world right now. It’s getting hard to survive. There are times where we feel that maybe this is not for us. Not in the times we are in. We sometimes feel like maybe we should put a pause to the business until the world is normal again. But let’s be honest, we may never get back to the normal we were accustomed to. That doesn’t mean you stop the business. You were created to survive such a time like this. God knew what we would be going through in this world and he knew it needed you and the ideas he gave you. When everything is against you, keep pushing forward! Blood! Sweat! Tears! Romans 5:3-4 tells us that tribulations produces perseverance, perseverance produces character, and character produces hope. This bible verse not only helps with your personal journey but also your business. Once you overcome something, you know that you can overcome something! We walked away from an opportunity of what we thought was going to be our “big break” because it didn’t feel right. It went against our policy and what we want our business to look like so we politely turned it down. But at that same time we were Blessed with our 2nd of three magazine features. Obstacles will present itself but God will always supply a way to get around them to keep going!
