We recently connected with Tiffany Rose and have shared our conversation below.
Tiffany, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to hear the backstory behind a risk you’ve taken – whether big or small, walk us through what it was like and how it ultimately turned out.
In 2015, I “risked” it all by moving my life and my business from the Bay Area to San Diego. I was a single mom of 4 kids, and don’t know a soul in San Diego.
But the ocean had been calling to me for years.
It was a bold move, but in some ways, I know the universe lined it up for me, and I just went where I was pulled.
I was broke and struggling even though my business was plugging away. I had a big 6 bedroom house in the back of a cul de sac in Pleasanton. Too much overhead, life with 4 active kids, it became too challenging to do this alone.
With the agreement of all 4 kids (when does THAT happen?!) we all took a risk together, and moved our lives 9 1/2 years ago.
It was hard. But the decision to stay was even harder.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
The real estate industry is broken in many ways, and has had a bad rap. There are some in the public who think we make too much money and the job is just easy enough to DIY.
I got into the business in 2001. My grandmother was a Realtor in Manteca many moons ago. I loved her. I loved her life. I love how she showed up with a positive spin. I love how she did life her way. I guess in hindsight, I followed in her footsteps.
There are many GREAT realtors and a new wave of conscious souls who are changing the way this business is done.
Sellers and buyers deserve better,
They deserve guidance, information and professionalism, not an agenda of sales scripts and salesmanship.
Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?
Jim Rohn. If I could credit one philosophy, and credit one person for my whole mind shift, and truly my whole life changing- it would be Jim Rohn. This has significantly changed what thought was possible. His teachings blew the roof off of what I thought was my ceiling.
What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
Even with all of my social media efforts, my main source of new clients are from referrals. My past clients and friends have support business for 22 years. As much as I try to connect and earn business from social media, it has become a business card for me. It deals the deal, but it’s not source of my leads.
Another source- I ask. I am a soccer player and have season tickets to the SD Wave football club. I asked for their business. I asked to represent their players. I told them
I didn’t want to pay them to say I am “the official realtor of the wave” and never actually do business. I told them
I would earn it, and THAT has proven to be the right call. I have been trusted with 12 players, staff and coaches in the last 8 months.
