Ariel, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – walk us through the story?
I am no stranger to risk-taking. As a person who’s had an idea of being an entrepreneur since age 5 risk is my forte. there was the lash studio risk, and there was the mothering risk. Risk is where the real transformation happens.
without risk there’s no reward said every self-help coach, Starting My current business Yeyeo Queen Steam was a risk that I was willing to take since I started this business in the heart of the COVID-19 lockdown I was newly separated from my surly ex-husband I felt like I was caged in a box of overeating and sorrow. Until I had a dream that would change the course of my path. My dream was a family member urging me to get into the herbalism field and also work with women on their yoni steam routines. But I only had $45 to my name I thought how am I going to do this? Well, my ex was paying me for a bank loan and right when I woke from my dream $560 was in my account I took an online herbalism course and became a Yoni Steam Practitioner all in the same week. I soft-launched on July 31 2020 through Facebook I had 2 orders that day people were pulling up to my house to get their orders. I felt on top of the world. I knew my risk was that I had to make this legit business so later that week I registered my business got my LLC and created my website, Facebook page and instgram page. I was invited to my first popup tabling event in December 2020. fast forward 4 years I am still in business Ive collerated with business owners in Ghana West Africa, I’ve been in over 30 popup events. So I guess the self help coaches were right with risk comes reward.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am In the Wellness industry I teach women how to listen to their wombs. If your cycle is heavy there’s an issue that needs to be addressed I work with them to find the root causes of their period problems keep in mind I don’t give medical advice I encourage them to work with their providers. My most proudest moment was growing my network to over 350 people and reaching new clients and supporters everyday. And hearing the results of my products and how can improve I love receiving feedback it helps me prefect my craft.
How’d you think through whether to sell directly on your own site or through a platform like Amazon, Etsy, Cratejoy, etc.
Yes, I sell on Amazon I was introduced to the FBA program over 3 years ago. It’s been challenging in the last year with price of the running the business through this program which comes with a lot of fees and overhead costs. But I think if you’re making more than enough revenue you will be fine. These platforms are great for small businesses to reach their target audience.
Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
I love this question! I foster brand loyalty by staying authentic and letting my customers and supporters see my life. I post my stories on Instagram. showing my process so that they know they are buying from a real person. And that the products going to have a quality control aspect intact.
