FRIDAH, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What was it like going from idea to execution? Can you share some of the backstory and some of the major steps or milestones?
My journey into event planning started at a young age, fueled by a natural curiosity and love for bringing people together in memorable ways back in my home country, kenya. I admired my mom organizing family gatherings and excitement would build up as we approached weekends and holidays. That is the only time I could work with her. I found joy in creating unique themes, decorating spaces, and ensuring every detail was perfect for our guests. Little did I know, these early experiences laid the foundation for my future career in event planning. The smiles as people enjoyed the moments and joy at the end of the parties gave me fulfillment.
After relocating to America, I missed having that joy of togetherness. I would casually organize small events for family and friends since there was no event planner in my community. last year, I had strong will to step out of my comfort zone and I exercised my skills to officially plan, and execute a friend’s graduation, relatives baby showers, birthday parties and retirement celebrations that turned out as a huge success. We shared timeless and memorable moments with family and friends. The joy, energy, and love at each event touched my heart and reminded me of the importance of cherishing life’s special occasions. The whole process gave me exposure to vendors and strategies to navigate challenging moments along the way. It was confirmation to officially take event planning as business. I started following May Silvers, an event planner and business coach with twenty years’ experience. She inspires me and guides me to strategize with a CEO mindset and visualize the growth of my business.

My name is Fridah, a wife and a mom of three beautiful kids, the creative mind behind Keyarise Elegant Events. One defining moment that sparked my passion was planning a surprise birthday party for my husband. Seeing his face light up with joy as he walked into a beautifully decorated room filled with friends and loved ones was truly magical. Then, I realized the power of events to create lasting memories and bring people closer together. Since then, I have sharpened my skills through formal education in event management, hands-on experience working with various clients, and a constant drive to stay updated on the latest trends in the industry. Every event I plan is a labor of love, combining creativity, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of my client’s vision. I am deeply passionate about meticulously planning and coordinating events, with a keen focus on the most minor details that breathe life into a vision. This divine passion ignited the creation of Keyarise Elegant Events, and I am thankful for the enriching journey it has led me on.
Event planning isn’t simply a profession for me; it is my true calling, purpose, and a means to uplift and inspire others to flourish. Each chapter offers key pieces of information that you won’t find anywhere else in just one source. It helps to increase the longevity and the rewarding relationships you have with clients and see them return repeatedly. This book has helped me become the EVENTrepreneur I was born to be. It is my guide to step into my successful reality of turning my passion into profit.
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
One day, I was organizing a significant charity event for a substantial cause. As the event date approached, I became increasingly stressed and overwhelmed by the sheer magnitude of the project. Despite my best efforts, I felt something was missing – a personal connection to the event’s purpose.
I stepped back to observe the guests and the presenters during the event. I saw the event’s impact on the attendees and the cause it was supporting. I witnessed tears of joy, heard heartfelt life stories, and saw the genuine connections being made.
At that moment, I realized that my work was more than logistics and aesthetics; it was about creating meaningful experiences that touched people’s lives. I learned from this experience the importance of infusing each event with a personal and emotional connection.
From that day forward, I made it a point to understand the deeper purpose behind each event I planned: a wedding, a baby shower, or a milestone event. I sought to create experiences that resonated with people emotionally, leaving a lasting impact beyond the event’s superficial aspects.
