We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Addie Pecord. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Addie below.
Addie, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. So, naming is such a challenge. How did you come up with the name of your brand?
14 years ago my husband and I started an antler business. Since this was a collaboration, we decided to name the business LA Antler Co. the “L” for Lucas and the “A” for Addie. Our business name was well known in the valley, so when I started my own interior design business, I wanted to keep similar branding. LA Studio & Co. has now grown from being just an interior design company to having a store front in Edwards, Colorado. LA Studio & Co. – Home Decor & Design. I also pursued my design degree in Los Angeles, so the LA can sometimes be associated with that as well.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I have always had a creative side to me and I knew from a young age I wanted to pursue a career in design. I moved to Los Angeles where I studied both fashion and interior design. When I graduated, I was hired by James Jeans as their petite denim designer. I later met my husband and that brought me back to my hometown in Colorado. Since there were not a lot of job opportunities in fashion, I switched focus and started my career in interior design with Slifer Designs. After several years working in the industry, I made the decision to start my own company. After three years I was presented with the opportunity to own a furniture store. I now have a home decor & design space in Edwards, Colorado. I am proud to have a beautiful space to provide both a retail experience, or help with a clients entire design project.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
I feel my best source of new clients would be the storefront. I have met so many wonderful clients from them just walking in the door and liking the overall look and feel of the store.

How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
Once I work with a client and get to know them, I consider them a friend. My relationships with my clients are very important to me and I think that is what maintains contact and loyalty.
