We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Rosanne M Norris. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Rosanne below.
Rosanne, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
My mission is to help parents who have suffered the loss of a child. In 2018, I was cracked wide open when my 30 year old son, Lee, and his dog, Buddy, succumbed to an accidental carbon monoxide poisoning in his home.. Lee’s passing lead me to question everything in my life from who we are, why are we here, and where do we go after this human life. I read books, listened to podcasts, and found a organization, called Helping Parents Heal which was instrumental in my healing journey. Because of the things I was learning and my desire to help other parents through the worst thing imaginable, I started a local chapter of HPH. Additionally, I wrote a book called, “beLEEve, A Jouney of Loss, Healing, And Hope.” The book was written from the numerous journals I had written in the first two years. I wrote the book in a journal format so that parents could relate to the day to day feelings and experiences after the loss of their child. Since writing “beLEEve,” I have written several chapters for anthologies on various aspect of healing and/or experiences that I have had.
To help me assist parents in my group, I studied to be a Grief Educator, with the renowned, David Kessler. I also was trained in Reiki to help myself and those in my group.
To me, nothing is more painful than losing a child. You question whether it’s even survivable. I feel it’s important to find a group who understand what you are going through. Grief is not meant to be done in isolation.
There will always be the pain of missing Lee, but I can truly say that I found joy again through the work I have done and continue to do.
Rosanne is an author of beLEEve, a Journey of Loss, Healing, and Hope (2020), and a contributor to six anthologies: Ordinary Oneness, The Simplicity of Everyday Love, Grace and Hope (2021), Gathering at the Doorway, An Anthology of Signs, Visits, and Messages from the Afterlife (2022), Ignite Your Inner Fire, Embrace Passion and Purpose (2023), Awaken Your Magic, Real Life Manifestation Journeys (2024), Paws and Purpose, Inspiring Animal Tales of Hesling and Transformation (2024), and Finding Your Path, Illuminated Adventures in Spiritual Awakening and Growth (2024). Rosanne was also featured in the award-winning documentary, “Rinaldi,” the story of Brazilian trans-communication researcher, Sonia Rinaldi, who for over thirty years has brought through images and voices from deceased loved ones.

Rosanne, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am proud of the work with parents I do, and the things I have written. I have been a writer all my life, and when I retired, I planned on writing more, but death and grief was not the topics I had planned on. However, it has been rewarding to do so. And if I have helped others in any way, I have done well.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Early on, I felt losing my son was not survivable. In fact, I didn’t want to live but would never take that action. Then I heard a dad speak on a podcast saying he would not want his son, in the afterlife, see a sad and broken man. It was then I decided to do the healing work necessary to live my best life. I wanted to make my son proud. I am resilient!

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
I was raised Catholic so I was in fear of the judgement I was sure to come when we die so I feared death. I no longer buy into that and as a result, I no longer fear death. I believe when we transition, we go to a wonderful place of our own creation, a place where Lee now exists, in another form.
