We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Lora Rosemon a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Lora, thanks for joining us today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
My mission is to empower women to recognize and embrace their true selves, prioritize their mental and spiritual well-being, and live fulfilling lives. This mission is deeply personal and meaningful to me, rooted in my own journey of self-discovery and healing.
In 2011, I experienced a profound loss when my only sister, Latrece, took her own life at the age of 32. This devastating event left me feeling lost and disconnected. In my search for understanding and healing, I embarked on a seven-year journey of self-discovery. I started researching the mind-body connection, spiritual practices, and teachings that eventually led to a life-changing realization.
Through this journey, I discovered the power of affirmations and self-awareness in overcoming self-sabotaging thoughts and reclaiming my true identity and purpose. This awakening not only helped me heal but also inspired me to share my insights and experiences with other women. I realized that many women struggle with similar feelings of unworthiness, self-doubt, and disconnection from their true selves.
My mission is meaningful because it is born from a place of personal transformation and a deep desire to help others. By sharing my story and the tools that helped me, I aim to inspire women to prioritize themselves, embrace their worth, and live authentically. Through my coaching, writing, and speaking engagements, I strive to create a supportive community where women can connect, grow, and thrive together. This mission isn’t just about empowerment; it’s about creating a ripple effect of positive change in the lives of women and, by extension, their families and communities.

Lora, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Hello! My name is Lora Rosemon, and I’m the creator of the Joli Ide platform and community, dedicated to inspiring women’s mental and spiritual well-being and affirming self-worth. I’m an affirmation coach and the author of “Unlearn the Bullsh!t: A Self-Realization Guide to Inform the Truest You.” I’m also a mother of two and a wife, and I’m incredibly passionate about helping women find peace of mind through self-prioritization.
My journey into this field began in 2011 after a personal tragedy that deeply impacted my life. I lost my only sister, Latrece, to suicide at the age of 32. This devastating loss led me on a profound journey of self-discovery and spiritual awakening. Feeling lost and disconnected, I spent seven years seeking to understand my purpose and heal from this grief. Through extensive research on the mind-body connection and exploring various spiritual practices and teachings, I experienced a transformative realization that helped me overcome self-sabotaging thoughts and reclaim my true identity and purpose.
This personal transformation inspired me to share my insights and experiences with other women. I realized that many women face similar struggles with feelings of unworthiness, self-doubt, and disconnection from their true selves. My mission is to empower women to recognize and embrace their true selves, prioritize their mental and spiritual well-being, and live fulfilling lives.
Through Joli Ide, I offer a range of services and products designed to support women on their journeys of self-discovery and empowerment. These include one-on-one affirmation coaching, workshops, speaking engagements, and my book, “Unlearn the Bullsh!t.” I also lead the Joli Bae community, where women commit to inner work to reach their higher potential and be their best selves. Additionally, I host monthly link-ups called the SELF-ish Experience, providing women with opportunities for conversation, connection with like-minded individuals, affirmations, and outings.
What sets my work apart is the raw, genuine, and no-nonsense approach I bring to speaking and leading. I believe in the power of authenticity and encourage women to be unapologetically SELF-ish (focused on all things that empower your best most high-a$$ vibing SELF) in their pursuit of happiness and fulfillment. My focus on self-prioritization and mental and spiritual well-being helps women break free from limiting beliefs and self-sabotaging thoughts, enabling them to live their truest and most fulfilling lives.
One of the things I am most proud of is (betting on myself to push past my own personal obstacles) allowing me to lead a community of empowered women that has grown around Joli Ide. Seeing women transform their lives, embrace their worth, and support each other on their journeys is incredibly rewarding. I want potential clients, followers, and fans to know that my work is deeply rooted in personal experience and a genuine passion for helping women thrive. My goal is to create a supportive, empowering, and unconventional safe space where women can connect, grow, and realize their fullest potential.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
There are so many lessons I had to unlearn, hence, I wrote a book on it.
One of the biggest lessons I had to unlearn was the need to please others at the expense of my own aspirations and higher purpose. For a long time, I found myself seeking validation and approval from those around me, allowing their opinions and expectations to shape my decisions. This mindset not only hindered my personal growth but also stifled the development of my business.
The turning point came after the loss of my sister, Latrece, which was a deeply transformative period for me. In the wake of this tragedy, I embarked on a journey of healing and self-discovery, which forced me to confront my fears, limiting beliefs, and the ways I had been holding myself back. I realized that in order to truly honor my sister’s memory and my own potential, I needed to prioritize my own voice and mission over the external noise.
I had to unlearn the ingrained habit of people-pleasing and learn to think for myself, even if it meant progressing slowly and facing resistance. Staying true to my mission and myself became paramount, especially when others tried to impose their ideas, thoughts, and opinions on me. This was a challenging but essential part of my growth.
One of the most crucial lessons I now teach is how to get out of your own way and out of your head. It’s about learning to discern and align your thoughts and actions with your true desires, without allowing contradicting fears to create abundance blocks on your path to success. This journey isn’t just about achieving external success but cultivating a deep, inner fulfillment.
I’ve learned that when you stay true to yourself and your mission, you attract the right opportunities and people into your life. It’s about trusting the process, even when it’s slow, and believing that staying aligned with your higher purpose will lead to true abundance and success from within.

Have you ever had to pivot?
A significant pivot in my journey came when I decided to write my book, “Unlearn the Bullsh!t: A Self-Realization Guide to Inform the Truest You.”
Writing the book was a deeply cathartic process but also a strategic pivot in my career. It allowed me to reach a broader audience and solidify my mission of helping women prioritize their mental and spiritual well-being. However, the journey didn’t end with the book’s publication. Recognizing the need to create more immersive experiences for women seeking deeper connections and personal growth, I decided to host my first SELF-ish retreat in 2025.
The SELF-ish retreat is designed to provide women with a sanctuary away from daily demands, where they can focus on self-care, reflection, and personal development. It’s a space where they can pour into themselves, free from external pressures and distractions. This initiative is currently evolving, and I’m excited to see it unfold as we approach the retreat date.
This pivot reflects my commitment to continuously adapting and expanding the ways in which I support women on their journeys toward self-discovery and empowerment. It’s about creating meaningful experiences that go beyond words on a page, offering tangible opportunities for transformation and connection within a supportive community.
