We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Bethany Campbell a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Bethany, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. So, naming is such a challenge. How did you come up with the name of your brand?
Jux and Co Studio, a Southern California-based interior design firm, was born out of a passion for combining unexpected elements to create harmonious spaces. Founder Bethany Campbell drew inspiration from the concept of juxtaposition – the act of placing contrasting things side by side for dramatic effect.
The firm’s design philosophy centers around blending materials and styles to create unique, eye-catching interiors. Specializing in moody coastal living and high-contrast interiors, Jux and Co Studio crafts spaces that reflect the individuality of each client.

Bethany, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I am a Southern California Interior Designer that specializes in creating unique, high contrast interiors. We work with clients across the U.S. to create spaces that reflect the individuality of each of our client. We create a story and “brand” for each project that resonates with their lifestyle.

Any advice for managing a team?
The culture within our studio is key! Several essential elements in creating high morale and building a positive work culture include promoting open communication, recognizing each team member’s strengths, and encouraging work-life balance. As creatives, we truly enjoy and love what we get to do on a daily basis. We approach our work with mutual respect and appreciate feedback from one another.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
I am proud of the resilient business we have built. My journey and business have been marked by learning curves and unique challenges. As a business we have navigated an out-of-state move, pivoted with Covid, and adapted to a constantly evolving design world. Our journey hasn’t been focused on the challenges; it has been about thriving through change and adversity. It’s about turning obstacles and learning curves into stepping stones and emerging as better versions of ourselves and our business.
