Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Ashley Morse. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Ashley, appreciate you joining us today. Can you tell us about a time where you or your team really helped a customer get an amazing result?
Most of my brand clients come to me without knowing where to begin or what they need. They know they need better brand imagery to help them grow.
My favorite success story is one of my first brand clients who owns a baby/kid clothing and toy company.
During our initial chat, she told me “Sometimes the new products will sit for months waiting for me to photograph them. I just don’t have the time at all.”
She booked a subscription package with me-which is 3 months.
After the first month, she came to me and told me she was asked to be interviewed on The CW, was asked to sell on Zulily, and sold out of her new collection before it even went live.
Her success story is still one of the best- in one month she was selling WAY more and getting so much more attention on her business!

Ashley, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I love entreprenuership.
I have been a photographer for over a decade. I started as a family and wedding photographer- and I loved it.
A few years ago I became very sick with an unknown chronic illness and I was physically unable to capture weddings and family portraits. I knew I needed to pivot.
I pivoted to brand photography- so I would have the flexibility to work when I could, and I fell IN LOVE. I love meeting and working with fellow entrepreneurs and helping them grow their businesses. I know firsthand how lonely owning and running a small business can be, and I love creating friendships and relationships with other entrepreneurs. Now, I shoot full time out of my on-property portrait studio and capture products for small businesses. I capture their products on/being used by models so their future customers can envision their products in their lives.
The hot sauce company…this is kind of a funny story.
My husband has always loved hot sauce. I have not.
My husband struggled finding a delicious hot sauce that was as spicy as he wanted.
He finally said “screw it I’ll make my own” and made his own for him to use at home on his meals.
His buddies tried some, and before we knew it they were banging down the door asking to buy some, wanting him to ship them some. I finally turned to him and said “why don’t we just make it legit and start a hot sauce company?”
I learned everything I needed, got us FDA approved and now I run the hot sauce company alongside my husband.
I take care of all the business stuff- marketing, photos(obviously LOL), branding, production- all of it.
I even convinced him to make a “wimpy” heat level for folks like me who want the flavor and just a teensy bit of heat.
It’s been such a fun journey!

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
Making connections! I used to hate networking and avoid it like the plague. But honestly I learned that I was approaching it all wrong. I was approaching any networking opportunity as “what do I want to gain from this?” and that’s why it felt so icky.
When I began dropping all expectations and simply connecting with others and getting to know them- I really began create meaningful and lasting relationships and connections with other small business owners.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
For me, it’s seeing it all come together.
I love seeing the joy when a business owner finally has imagery that LOOKS and FEELS exactly how they want it. When they are proud and excited to share them because they feel like they encompass their brand so well- that is so rewarding to me.
For the hot sauce company, I love how it brings folks together. Seeing people come and taste our hot sauces at our events and buy bottles to go and BBQ with their families is just the best feeling. The moments they help create are really special.
Seeing the sauces that my husband and I worked so hard on- fine-tuning multiple batches to get our recipes perfect, jumping through all the hoops for the FDA approval, and seeing how much people love it is just so, so rewarding. It makes me so happy.
