Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Rachel Ford. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Rachel, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Looking back, do you think you started your business at the right time? Do you wish you had started sooner or later
I wish I had started business sooner. But it makes a lot of sense why I’m starting now. When I got my LLC back in 2021 I originally wanted to run a healthy vending machine business. After the death of my father I really felt lost, and I truly lost control of my business. I grieved by spending money, so I really didn’t have much to invest in my business with.
I’ve always been into health, fitness, and nutrition, but I had fallen off completely with my health and fitness. It wasn’t until January 2023 when I finally got serious and decided I needed to get my life and business together, so I went back to school and got fitness nutrition certified. I recently wrote a book about gut health, and now I am pursuing a writing career and becoming a well established author.

Rachel, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I got into the fitness and nutrition field because it’s something I’ve always took seriously and I was like, why not pursue entrepreneurship in a niche that I already love. I wanted to find a way to encourage others to discipline themselves when it comes to foods. I had this cool idea of pursuing a healthy vending machine business. Providing healthy snacks and beverages, while also providing QR codes for people to get more information on each and every product located inside the machine. This inspired me to also write my first book about gut health. It will be out later this year. Following on this journey of health and wellness, I was inspired to get sober. I was an alcoholic before, even though I took my health seriously, just not serious enough. Now I’m working on my second book about getting sober, so I can help others do the same.
Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
Rich Dad Poor Dad definitely changed my life! Also I really love and appreciate this other author named Anik Singal. He has helped me a lot. I’ve even attended some of his seminars. Honestly it takes a lot of patience, when it comes to starting and running a business. I would get so impatient and frustrated before, and I still do at times, but I’ve learned to control that frustration and put it towards something useful. I am forever grateful for my mentors who have helped me.

If you have multiple revenue streams in your business, would you mind opening up about what those streams are and how they fit together?
My business has multiple revenue streams. I rent my car on Turo and I have a vending machine. It can be a lot at times, especially while writing a book and managing a restaurant. But I love staying busy and getting work done. I love the maintaining my business so I know I’m providing the best service possible. I love the reviews my clients have left me. It’s truly a blessing.
