We were lucky to catch up with Jeremiah Baker recently and have shared our conversation below.
Jeremiah, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
I decided to pursue my passion back in 2020, I had no idea that social media would lead me to where I am today. It is so insane how many connections social media can bring you, I have always been a nerd. I mean my entire life, I have loved anime, video games, comics, movies, and most aspects of entertainment. Then I thought to myself, how can I immerse myself into the entertainment industry and that is when I started to create informational content/skits about some of our favorite nerdy things. It was hard to stay motivated and sometimes it still is to create multiple videos but, it has gotten me in so many rooms that I never thought that I would be in. School helped me get connected with more creatives and gave me more on set experience for film/television, I am always grateful for every opportunity. Now, I take every chance to stay involved in the entertainment space. I am just glad that I decided to pick up my phone one day and say “CREATE”.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I got into this industry by just creating content, collaborating with others, researching, learning, consuming content, and being a theatre kid at Kell High School. I feel like my ideas is what sets me apart from others and what strategies I bring to the table, I have worked with many brands throughout the years. I want people to feel joy and informed about what is going on in the entertainment industry, My brand is built off all aspects of entertainment and I just want to create cool things not just by myself but with others, there is a story just outside your window or even in your room. I provide content services related to movies, television, gaming, and cosplaying. My favorite cosplay that I have ever done is Narancia Ghirga from Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure and it is an anime on Netflix (I highly recommend). What I want people to know about me is that I LOVE stories and I want to tell my own along with helping others tell their stories as well.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding is feeling the joy and multitude of feelings after you create something. You just get this sense of peace but then it’s like “onto the next” and the grind just never stops. It is rewarding to see how proud my family, friends, and colleagues are of me as I am continuing to navigate the entertainment space. If you have a dream, never stop going after it and always be the one shining in the room, no matter who is in it.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I built my audience by figuring out what my niche was, and I thought to myself…”what can I do better?” or “what is something I could do that others have not done”? From there, it was just straight growth although I have pivoted due to life and school but that did not stop me. You build an audience through connection from your content, you’d be surprised to see how many people think like you do. Relatability is one of the key concepts behind content creation because it provides that unspoken connection from viewer to creator. Always be consistent, keep going, even when views look low you should still keep posting, numbers do not matter and at the end of the day it is all about your mindset. Stay focused and trust that God will lead you on the right path to your success.
