Alright, Rino thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What can you share with us about the story behind how you found your key vendors?
When I started out as an artist, finding clients and making deals were both challenging and at the same time rewarding. Here are steps I took when I was starting out:
BUILDING A PORTFOLIO
I spent a significant time creating a strong body of work that showcased my art. I think this is essential for making a great first impression. As my father who is also an artist told me, you can never get back that first impression so you better make the best you could.
NETWORKING
I attended art shows, gallery openings and community events. these gatherings are crucial for meeting potential clients and other gallery owners and art consultants.
ONLINE PRESENCE
One of the first steps I took was set up my website and also used other social media platforms like INSTAGRAM and FACEBOOK to showcase my art. This helped in reaching a broader audience.
FIRST DEAL
My first client encounter found me through an art show. They liked my work and approached me with a commission idea. We discussed their vision, the scope of the project, deadlines and pricing. It is very important to be clear and upfront about what I could deliver and when. This protected both parties and set clear expectations. We then formalized our agreement with a contract that outlined the commission details, payment terms and deadlines.
LESSONS LEARNED
Know the value of your work. “Art is a treasure not a commodity. Initially,” I underpriced my work but over time, I learned the importance of valuing my time and skills appropriately.
WHAT WOULD I DO DIFFERENT NOW
Presence is key. Today, I would invest more in a robust online presence, including a professional website and regular social media updates. Build an email list and send out regular newsletters to keep portential clients updated on new works and art shows.
CONTENT CREATION
Create more engaging content, such as process videos, and live painting sessions, to attract and retail followers.
NETWORKING IS KEY
Building relationships with other artists, gallery owners and potential clients is invaluable. Don’t underestimate the power of word-of-mouth.
CONTINUOUS LEARNING
Stay updated on industry trends and continually seek to improve your skills.
PATIENCE
Building a client base takes time. Patience and perseverance are essential.
I hope these insights and lessons from my journey can help guide my fellow artists in finding clients and striking deals in the ever-evolving art market.

Rino , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m an artist with a passion for creating realistic art using oil as my medium. My journey into the art industry has been both challenging and rewarding, filled with learning experiences and personal growth.
From a young age, I was fascinated by art. I remember watching my father paint until I fall asleep on my chair. Besides learning from my father I pursued my formal education in Fine Arts. I graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in oil painting at the California State University Los Angeles. After graduating, I started participating in local art shows and exhibitions which were instrumental in getting my work noticed and connecting with potential clients.
One of the most satisfying aspects of my work is solving creative problems for my clients. Whether it’s creating a custom piece that perfectly fit a client’s vision, helping businesses enhance their space with my art or designing illustrations for publications,
I strive to meet and exceed their expectations. I would say that my ability to listen, understand and translate a clients idea into tangible art sets me apart.
UNIQUE STYLE
My art is characterized by its classical realism, which have become my signature style.
ATTENTION TO DETAIL
I pay close attention to detail, ensuring each piece is meticulously painted.
PROFESSIONALISM
From initial consultation to final delivery, I maintain a high level of professionalism, ensuring clear communication and timely completion of projects.
KEY MESSAGES FOR POTENTIAL CLIENTS
Passion and commitment is very important to me. I am deeply passionate about art and committed to delivering the best possible work for my clients.
CUSTOMIZATION
I offer custom artwork tailored to my clients specific ideas and preferences, ensuring a unique and personal touch.
QUALITY AND EXCELLENCE
I strive for excellence in every piece I create, high quality materials and techniques.
