Débora, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?

Success often depends on individual goals and perspectives. It is subjective, but for any kind of plan to be successful, we need a combination of factors and actitudes.

We need clear goals that gives you direction and something to strive for.
Persistence and resilience: we often face setbacks and challenges. Being able to persevere through difficulties is crucial.
Continuous learning: Being open to learning new things and improving yourself allows you to adapt and grow.
Self-Discipline: having the discipline to stay motivated, work hard, and stay on track toward your goals is essential. Being organized and managing your time well can help you stay focused and productive.
Networking: building relationships and working well with others can provide support, resources, and new opportunities.
Passion: being passionate about what you do will fuel your efforts and keep you committed.

All of these along with dedication and a positive mindset will definitely help you to acchieve success in a certan point!

Débora, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

I had the pleasure of working in the Beauty Industry for 23 years, 9 of them in New York, assisting celebrities such as Fernanda Montenegro, Gabriela Duarte, and even the First Lady of Brazil. Those were special moments in my carreer!

About 5 years ago, another passion emerged: Body Art Tattoo! Since I always used to draw and paint, and were used to the tattoo equipment because of the paramedical and cosmetic tattoos, it was easy to jump to this new world where I can really EXPRESS MY ART! In addition to my work as a tattoo artist, I am deeply involved in fine art painting. The canvas allows me to explore a different dimension of creativity, capturing emotions and stories through paint strokes and colors.

I am always impressed with the power that tattoo and/or fine art paintings has to raise self-esteem, to bring back good memories, and to bring contentment to myself as a professional as well as to the client who always ends up becoming a friend!

Today in Miami, I work only as a tattoo artist and visual artist! If you want to get a tattoo that will eternalize something important to you, talk to me! And if you prefer my art on your wall instead of on your skin, you can also talk to me!!

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?

Since 2000, I’ve been a eyebrow designer and makeup artist, a career that has brought me great professional fulfillment in Brazil. However, life took me on an unexpected journey when my husband was invited to work in the United States. In New York, I started from scratch. I quickly realized there was significant demand for my services, especially within the Brazilian community, where I soon became recognized.

For nine years, my business thrived continuously. I always offered great services and it allowed me to build a loyal and satisfied clientele!

Then came the pandemic. As my work relied on direct contact with people, I was forced to pause my activities. It was a challenging time but also an opportunity to explore new paths. I decided to study body art tattooing, a field that had always intrigued me since I always liked to draw and paint. With determination and focus, I learned the necessary techniques and soon began tattooing.

My existing clientele, who already trusted me, embraced this new facet of my career. However, changes happened and led us to Miami. Here I am, again, starting from scratch, building a new clientele, and facing daily challenges with the same passion and dedication as always.

Each day is an opportunity to grow, learn, and connect with new people through Art!. I am determined to continue honing my skills and exceeding expectations, no matter where life takes me. Resilience is my motto!

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?

Throughout my professional journey, I’ve always relied on word of mouth to bring in clients every day. I never needed to invest much time on social media promotion because the recognition and recommendations from my clients were sufficient to keep my schedule full.

However, looking back, I realize I underestimated the potential of social media. If I had started dedicating more time to it earlier on, I would certainly have seen greater results today. Now, I understand the importance of being present and active on social media to expand my reach and attract new clients.

Today, I’m working twice as hard to make up for lost time. I’m doubling my efforts to build a strong online presence and engage with my audience. I know it won’t be easy, but I’m determined not to give up. Every post, every interaction is a step towards growth and success! I’m learning, refining my strategies, and committed to achieving better results.

I won’t let regret over lost time hold me back from reaching my goals. I’m focused and ready for the challenge that social media presents. With persistence and dedication, I believe I can achieve the recognition I aspire to.
