Belinda, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s talk legacy – what sort of legacy do you hope to build?
When thinking of a legacy I would hope to leave my children my artistic creation, love and respect. I hope that my children will continue to live a life full of love and respect. That they also see the beauty behind the art and truly value it’s worth. That art no matter the form that it comes in has its own beauty and tells a story.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your background and context?
My name is Belinda and I am a cookie artist, owner and CEO of B’s Cookie Chateau. I fell into the cookie world by accident and I have turned it into a business. I am a school counselor by trade, a Ph.D candidate, a wife, an entrepreneur and a mom of four. I started making cookies when I decided to make cookies for my sons first birthday. I have been making cookies every since. I took a small break for a number of years and only made a few orders during that time and dedicated my most of time to my children. I got back into the cookie business 2019 and my business has continued to grow. Being an artistic cookie creator is a job that is irreplaceable. I am always so blessed when my customers ask to make edible detailed works of art. I am also honored know that my customers trust me to be apart of their celebrations. Each order I get, I specify all the details and I cater to their special requests as best as I can. Every order is custom made, starting with my original flavors such as “Daddy O’s Vanilla” and “Ale’s Magical Funfetti” to the color pattern and floral details. I do my best to provide flavors that are memorable and continue to bring me referrals. For me every custom cookie order is made to perfectly fit my clients theme/party.


What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
For me the best source of new clients have been my Instagram account and referrals (word of mouth). Over the past few years I have worked on my social media platform. I have invested time to do my best to provide content for others to see and want. From providing the perfect picture and being sure to provide a description of the cookie. Marketing is very important for a creative business like mine. Word of mouth or referrals would be my next source for new clients. My clientele is a supportive group of individuals that not only love my cookies but also want my success to continue. When my clientele refers me, they are helping my company grow.


What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
One of the most effective strategy for growing my clientele is customer service. I do my very best to make sure my clients are treated with respect and dignity. Every client is a new client, each with their own perspective and preferences. If my clients are happy with how they are treated and cared for, they are more then likely going to refer me to their friends, family, coworkers etc. Customer Service is key to having a successful business.
