Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Winston Peters. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Winston, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you tell us about an important lesson you learned in school and why that lesson is important to you?
Often when you are young, you do have the refined skill set to clearly understand and evaluate opportunities that can positively impact your life. One of the most important lessons I have learned during my undergrad experience was understanding the value of the opportunities that were presented to me and learning how to maximize them.
It was during the transition from my freshman year to my sophomore year, when I obtained an engineering internship through one of my institution’s career development / mentoring programs. I quickly realized that it was uncommon for a rising sophomore to get an internship of this caliber. With that clarity and understanding I knew it was more than an internship but an opportunity to network and soak up as much knowledge (personal and professional) as possible from these seasoned professionals. The ability to learn, observe, be in these rooms became a value asset navigating my Collegiate career. This internship and what I learned was the foundation of my professional career post graduation.
This experience has stuck with me because, you never know who you would meet and what they can teach you if you are open to the possibilities of learning and growing.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am a Business & Brand Strategist at MyUberLife Consulting and the Program Director of Entrepreneurs@MC at Manhattan College. My journey into this industry began with a deep curiosity about how people lived and survived, sparked by my upbringing as a first-generation immigrant. This curiosity, combined with my formal education in civil engineering and business, led me to explore the intersection of culture, business, and entrepreneurship.
At MyUberLife Consulting Group, we offer comprehensive business solutions to the creative community, entrepreneurs, and established companies. Our unique approach involves leveraging culture as data to drive strategies and insights that increase both profits and cultural impact.
What sets us apart is our focus on the “5C’s” and what we call “The Cool Hand of The Market™️”. We’ve developed a keen understanding of how culture and commerce interact, allowing us to provide tailored solutions that resonate with our clients’ target audiences and drive real results.
I’m also a founding partner of WÜLF University, a platform for life lessons and entrepreneurial wisdom. Through this initiative, we aim to educate students, entrepreneurs, and creatives with knowledge that goes beyond traditional classroom learning.
One of the things I’m most proud of is our ability to help “Dreamers” turn their ideas into actionable plans. We provide them with strategies and upgrades to their business concepts, helping them “Be A Wolf About Their Dream.”
For potential clients and followers, I want them to know that at MyUberLife and WÜLF University, we’re committed to building and growing businesses, connecting culture and commerce, educating creatives on business, and advising companies on culture[4]. Our approach is rooted in a deep understanding of cultural movements and trends, combined with solid business acumen and strategic thinking.
We believe that understanding your “WHY” is crucial for both personal and organizational success. It’s a tool for clarity that impacts decision-making and forms the foundation of your value system. This philosophy guides our work and helps our clients achieve not just financial success, but also cultural relevance and personal fulfillment.
Whether you’re an aspiring entrepreneur, an established business looking to innovate, or a creative seeking to turn your passion into a profitable venture, we’re here to help you navigate the complex landscape of business and culture in today’s rapidly changing world.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
As Myuberlife Consulting Group (MÜLF) and WÜLF University, I believe several key factors have helped us build our reputation in the market:
Our unique approach combining culturally-relevant business solutions, confidential strategies, and business engineering expertise has set us apart. We focus on turning ideas into reality and amplifying success in both local and global marketplaces.
Our diverse, multi-cultural, and multi-lingual team of polymaths brings a multi-dimensional perspective to client engagements. This allows us to offer innovative solutions that resonate across different cultures and markets.
Our results-driven attitude, which we call the WÜLF energy, has been crucial in delivering tangible outcomes for our clients. We’re known for our diligent work ethic and our ability to understand and contribute to the spirit of the times.
Our commitment to making a positive impact on communities and the world at large, while also achieving financial success for our clients, has resonated with many. We aim to increase the standard of living in the world through all our endeavors. I believe it’s our unique blend of cultural intelligence, technological innovation, and commitment to positive impact that has helped us build a strong reputation in the market.
And we are good people, looking to do good!
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
As an entrepreneur, I’ve had to undergo a significant mindset shift when it comes to building my business with my partners. For years, I believed that working hard was the key to success. I would put in long hours, sacrifice my personal life, and push myself to the limits thinking that this was the only way to achieve my goals. I was convinced that the more I worked, the more successful I would become.
However, as time went on, I began to realize that this approach wasn’t sustainable or even effective. Despite all my efforts, I wasn’t seeing the results I had hoped for. My business was growing, but at a painfully slow pace. It was then that I had to confront an uncomfortable truth: working hard wasn’t enough. I needed to learn how to work smart.
Unlearning the habit of equating success with sheer effort has been a challenging process. It required me to step back and critically examine my workflows, priorities, and decision-making processes that truly moved the needle for my business. This meant saying no to opportunities that didn’t align with my core “why” and objectives.
The transition from working hard to working smart has been transformative. I’ve rediscovered the importance of rest and self-care, realizing that they’re not indulgences but essential components of sustainable success. While I still work diligently, I now understand that it’s not about how many hours I put in, but about the value I create in those hours.
