We were lucky to catch up with Tai Goodwin recently and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, Tai thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?

After building a multiple 6-figure marketing agency, I realized I was heading for burnout. So I asked myself, “What do I really want to be known for?” and “What do I really want to see more of in the world?”

The response that came back had less to do with funnels and more to do with helping visionary leaders, healers and trailblazers with a message be more visible so they could create more impact and freedom.

So now my message focuses on what it takes to create a business that’s aligned to your authentic life? And then helping my clients expand their vision and find the courage to step into what’s next. I’m getting to share the lessons I’ve lived over the last 20 years building a business as an outlier. Avoiding hyped up promises and instead choosing to provide real help, lasting value… creating legacy.

I am honored that I get to work with women and men who aspire to leave a lasting mark on the world while forging their path of personal liberation and fulfillment.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

As a Vision Midwife and Liberation Coach, I get to help high-achieving leaders and entrepreneurs broaden their vision and overcome barriers that limit their growth and impact. With a rich history as an instructional designer and teacher turned entrepreneur, I am able to combine my knowledge, intuition, and expertise in a way that allows me to provide more than just strategy.

My clients are brilliant at what they do and they know they are here to transform lives, communities and the world – they just need someone in their corner to help them see bigger and grow into the work that they want to do. I’ve been able to do this through transformative personalized 1:1 coaching, specialized group programs, and exclusive retreats. I uniquely blend strategy with deep personal development insights, empowering my clients to lead with authenticity and confidence without sacrificing their values.

I heal with my words, so one of the things I am most proud of is my book, Girlfriend, It’s Your Time and my upcoming book: Girlfriend, Get Free: Lessons on Liberating Your Life. I am also a sought-after speaker and the host of the Girlfriend, Get Free Podcast. My intention is to build a platform that reaches millions, sharing inspiring stories of courage, transformation, and freedom.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?

I actually started as a Virtual Assistant. My very first business was The Savvy VA and I did desktop publishing, editing and website design. This was back in 2001/2002 before lots of people knew what a VA was. My goal was to be home with my daughter. I was pregnant and had no intention of going back to a job once she was born. It didn’t quite work out as I intended – I spent years being an employedpreneur – full time employee with a business on the side.
Making the decision as single mom to forge through and learn how to build a business while working a full-time job was daring but one of the best decisions I made. I learned a lot in the trenches that prepared me for today and helped me remain resilient no matter what the economy or business landscape looked like.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?

I love using online quizzes to generate leads, but nothing beats building real relationships. In a world that is fascinated with AI and automation, it’s important to remember the value of people and relationships – no system will ever be able to replace that.
