We recently connected with Jessica Logologo and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Jessica thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Do you wish you had started sooner?
I always had different plans of what my career would be when I got older. I had envisioned myself being involved with the sports world either as an athlete, coach or reporter. Singing was just something I did naturally, but I never thought to pursue it as an adolescent. It wasn’t until my mid 20’s that I really started to open up my options to explore a career in entertainment.
As I was building my confidence, brand, team, and stage presence time was quickly passing me by and I started to dread the fact that I was drawing closer to my 30’s. I felt as if I wasn’t where I should have already been at in my life. I started to believe a deadline was quickly approaching and time seemed to be running out. Feelings of anxiety and inadequacy started to slowly grow within my thoughts. I would find myself blaming my lack of success on not starting my career in music sooner.
Today, being at the nubile age of 33, I’ve realized so many of my ideas about a successful person were vain. I had to learn to focus on the journey instead of the destination. Joy is not found in completing a task but in doing it. There isn’t a timer on pursuing your dreams and accomplishing goals, and we will never find success if we continuously compare our journey with others. I encourage readers to live everyday of your life doing something that gives you a sense of purpose. I like to reflect upon my path sometimes and realize that God’s timing was perfect. Everything happens the way it does for a reason, and it’s always for the better. You will always be where you are meant to be as long as you trust the process. So please remember, it is never too soon or ,in my case, too late to start.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am an independent reggae artist of Samoan descent, reigning from the city of Long Beach, CA. I have been performing for more than 10 years all over the So-Cal area and other neighboring cities and states. I started singing at local bars and open mics to big festivals and concerts. I just recently opened up for Spawnbreezie and Grammy nominated reggae artist, J-Boog in Adelanto at The Mayjah Vibes Fest, and Grammy nominated reggae artist King Yellowman at the 7th annual Marley Fest in Long Beach. It’s been an uphill expedition, establishing a foundation for myself in the music industry, but this experience has also been a very impactful blessing for my team and me. Actually, I want to take this time to highlight my company and team, Bodyrocc Productionz, for all of the hardwork they do behind the scenes in supporting our dream and my music. Bodyrocc Productionz is an entertainment business created in 2019, that is made up of a couple family members and friends, with my brother Jason Logologo and I as the co-owners. Special thanks to our friends, extended family and community for their support in helping us spread our love of music to the world.
When I perform, I love to set the tone for the day, and create a different ambiance for the audience then from what they have ever experienced before. I want to make everyone feel as if we are in a one on one conversation even though we are in a full crowd of people. The way I am with my own friends and family is how personal I want the connection between the audience and me to be. I really want you to saturate the entire experience I give from my first to last song. I love to create a fun and inviting atmosphere when I hit the stage. I am so full of gratitude to all of my fans, supporters and family who have been vibing with me since day one, and if you don’t know by know you better know from here on out… MS. B ROYAL is MY NAME! <3

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
It’s a worthwhile feeling when you can bring a melody outside of your head and into the world. It’s a testimony when you can take life experiences and turn it into a song that creates healing within others while your just trying do some healing for yourself. The capability of bringing music to life and sharing it with others is the closest thing to magic I’ve ever witnessed. When I see the music I create, affecting people’s emotions, by crying, laughing, dancing and more, it always reassures me that I’m doing exactly what I was made to do. Having a genuine connection with the audience is such a full circle moment, and it’s one of the most empowering, yet humbling feelings in the world.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
My family’s legacy and future are both huge factors that make up my goals in life. Many years ago my great grandparents and grandparents, took a leap of faith to leave their village on the small island of Samoa to start a new life in the big city of Los Angeles, CA. Their faith in God, was stronger than their fear of coming to a new world. I search for that strength within myself everytime I face an obstacle or opportunity. I will not let their hopes and dreams for our lineage fade away. My mission is to carry on the work of my ancestors, which is to build family prosperity by creating more abundant opportunities for our future generational bloodline. I want to use my gift of music to not only give my family all the blessings they deserve, but to also go back home to Samoa one day and provide resources and financial help to my villiage and my people.
